New York (CNNMoney) - When asked directly about Social Security during their first debate, President Obama and Mitt Romney each gave a brief, detail-free answer. Then they used the rest of their time to talk about Medicare.
Granted, Medicare poses a much bigger financial problem than Social Security. But Americans rely on both programs.
FULL STORY
Mitt want`s it to send it to the stock market
You ignorents know where Romney stands on SocialSecurity, get rid of it,Medicare, get rid of that too and Medicaid in the trash pile with the rest, that's easy what's for lunch boys! He's for it, against it,can't believe he's for it again,is he for or against your pick is as good as mine but who cares I'm voting for Pres.Obama/ Biden 2012, the only way to win!!
Obama's plan, let Obamacare kill off the elderly before they can collect too much.
Mitt will ban SS and Medicare, which scare the hell out I'd every one.
I'm so sick of CNN being pro Romney. If you want socialism, vote Romney.
Medicare & SS need tweaking as all successful programs – govt and private sector – do from time to time, Mitt would turn it into a voucher ponzi scheme that benefits only him and his Wallstreet buddies.
He'd screw the middle class and working people just like Bush and every other Repub President has in the past.
The GOP has always hated SS & Medicare because they are successful (Democratic initiated) programs – Romoney will end them by bleeding them dry.
These programs are not up for grabs. If the candidates want to talk about improving the programs then they should be inviting people to meet together to talk about any changes. Work to a consensus before you make changes. Anyone unwilling to do this does not deserve our vote.
Just a little tidbit here to show just where those PACs that do not print the names of the donors are spending their money. This came today to show what is being spent in Wisconsin for Tommy Thompson for Senate. Just think if some of this money was used to feed the hungry, cloth the people, provide shelters for the homeless, assist the elderly and others on fixed incomes to heat their homes and to pay those who help all of these people to live. Wouldn't that be remarkable.
Group Attack ad spending
National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) $1,717,581.00
U.S.Chamber of Commerce (not your local Chamber) $2,047,863.00
Americans for Prosperity (backed by the Koch brothers) $1,998,067.00
Crossroads GPS (Karl Rove's group) $3,939,029.00
The 60+ Association (whose spokesperson is Pat Boone) $520,800.00
NFIB $145,587.00
TOTAL $10,833,445.00
Now add in your state and you will see that the amount of money being spent on this election is unbelievable. We need to say enough and force these PACs out of our states. WE should be able to elect our leaders without this money from people who do not live in our states.
CBR has bad data. The actual data is this:
Obama attack ad spending: 612 million
Romney attack ad spending: 534 million
And lets not forget all the free attack ads Obama gets from his celebrity friends and the Democrat controlled puppets in the press.
Hussein Obama already ROBBED Medicare of $716 Billion and basicaly throwing your grandparents to the curb.
Obama 2012 ,romney the tax cheat ,0
Barack Obama got rid of waste and duplication and the savings to Medicare was enough to keep it going 8 years longer than was planned.
He did NOY rob it. But Ryan intends to rob it by cutting that same amount in benefits and paying for tax cuts for the wealthy - I don't care how Mitt explained it to to you. I've read the bills. I'm retired, but I'm not stupid. I can read.
@ DEMOCRATS ARE IN FACT THE BIGGEST TAX CHEATS AROUND. Timothy Geithner THE PERFECT EXAMPLE.
Have you paid attention to your messiah Mitt and Paul? Both of them would have Medicare gutted and replaced with a voucher system. Both of them have affirmed that. Who's throwing granny on the curb now?
Patrick in Wisconsin – The messiah has and always will be Hussein Obama. Your fact twiasting is pathetic and the fact is Hussein Obama has already gutted Medicare as opposed to proposing to.
Hussein Obama has
Romney hasn't
It's called reality.
Patrick in Wisconsin- The voucher system is OPTIONAL! Even a really dense lib should be able to understand that. That is a way to keep Medicare from suddenly disappearing.
