No injuries after shot fired at Obama campaign office in Denver

(CNN) - A single shot was fired Friday at an Obama campaign office in Denver, Colorado, a police spokeswoman said.

The shot resulted in no injuries, although people were in the building at the time, Denver police spokeswoman Raquel Lopez told CNN.

Police did not have a description of a suspect but did have a possible vehicle of interest, Lopez said.

A glass window was shattered, images of the scene showed.

Lopez said the Secret Service, which protects President Obama, was not involved in the investigation Friday, although the agency’s involvement would depend on what Denver police find.

Obama's re-election campaign had no comment and referred questions to Denver police.

Obama was in Washington on Friday.

After that terrible debate performance in Denver last week the shots were probably fired by a Democrat.

Day 1: the media will blame some flannel-shirted republican...Day 15: police will arrest the Democrat who fired the shot trying to stir-up blame on, and hate for, Conservatives: Also on Day 15: media will drop story. This pattern of media abuse of the truth has happened so many times before as in 2008, 2004, 2000... In the end, hopefully the shooter will land in jail, at least.

After Joe Biden's debate performance and this incident in Denver, I am fired up and ready to go!

I live in the Denver area and will be reporting to my local field office this morning to start the get out the vote effort by the Obama campaign. If you live in the Denver area, look up your local Obama field office and go show support for getting the President re-elected as a protest against the shooting at the downtown office.

I thought this was a free country where we encourage healthy political discourse and activism.. Shooting at the Obama campaign office might have been meant as a way to intimidate people from participating in the democratic process of free elections, but it is going to have the opposite effect.

Did they recover a bullet? The story didn't mention it. Is it possible that it was a rock pinched out from under the wheel of a vehicle that struck the window and shattered it? That used to happen about once every three years at a place that I used to work at.

I believe it was Hannity who stated "These liberals are extremists....really...I fear for the safety of Romney supporters"..........HOW will he twist this one?....I listen to him on my way home from work for a laugh everyday....such a useless piece of flesh.

This has gone too far. Both sides need to come together and make a joint statement denouncing this and any violent act stemming from hatred for either candidate. The GOP and tea party has stirred this beast and should be held to some level or responsibilities. John McCain was decent enough to correct a misguided voter during a townhall. Time for the GOP to show some maturity.

These acts should be classified as a felony regardless if there is an injury or not. We have a right to bear arms for defense and a right to expression but this is going overboard.

If you are a resident of Colorado and an undecided voter, this incident should tell you all you need to know about the Republican Party. The inmates are running the asylum.
