(CNN) - Mitt Romney's campaign, along with the Republican National Committee, raised $170 million in September, the campaign announced Monday.
The number comes more than a week after President Barack Obama's team said they raised a record $181 million for the president's re-election effort in the same month.

FULL STORY(CNN) - Sen. Sherrod Brown of Ohio and the Republican seeking to unseat him, State Treasurer Josh Mandel, debated on Monday in Cleveland, sparring over whether the auto bailout and other stimulus measures had helped the Ohio economy.
Mandel said that if elected he would "take a backseat to no one when it comes to fighting for auto jobs, to protect auto jobs, and to grow auto jobs here in the state of Ohio" but said he did not favor the measures.

(CNN) – First lady Michelle Obama cast her ballot in the presidential election Monday, voting absentee in Illinois 22 days ahead of Election Day on November 6.
A photo of the first lady holding the envelope containing her ballot at the White House was released on the official Barack Obama Flickr account.

(CNN) - Democrat Elizabeth Warren outraised incumbent Sen. Scott Brown in the heated Massachusetts Senate race by more than $4.6 million in the third quarter.
Warren, a Harvard law professor, took in $12.1 million compared to $7.45 million for the Republican lawmaker, according to numbers announced by both campaigns Monday.

Waukesha, Wisconsin (CNN) – Rep. Paul Ryan is hoping the winning streak of his beloved Packers will rub off on his party and end a 28-year losing streak for Republican presidential nominees in his home state.
"And in Wisconsin we have shown that if leaders step up and lead we as voters have their backs. We haven't dedicated our electoral votes since 1984 to the Republican nominee.
