Ryan tries to pit Clinton comment against Obama
Fort Myers, Florida (CNN) – Mitt Romney's running mate seized on a comment made by former President Bill Clinton Thursday, one of Barack Obama's chief surrogates, to make the case against another four more years.
"President Bill Clinton said it is true that our economy is not fixed. He is right. And you know what, if the president can't fix Washington from the inside, if the middle class has been buried for the last 4 years and if the economy is not fixed it is time we change presidents and elect Mitt Romney the next President of the United States," Paul Ryan said at an evening rally on Florida's Gulf Coast.

The two-term Democratic president was making the case for Obama at a rally in Ohio when he made the point about Romney that Ryan referred to, which was a reference to last Tuesday's presidential debate.
In Parma, Ohio Clinton said, "Gov. Romney's argument is, 'we're not fixed, so fire him and put me in.' It is true. We're not fixed. When President Obama looked into the eyes of that man who said in the debate, 'I had so much hope four years ago and I don't now,' I thought he was going to cry, because he knows that it's not fixed."
Clinton went on to argue the current administration is on the correct path to fix the economy.
Obama's reelection team responded to Ryan's comments by pointing out areas where the economy has improved since Obama became president and argued the risk of electing Romney-Ryan and going back to policies of President George W. Bush.
"Since Romney and Ryan's tax plan would raise taxes on the middle class to pay for tax cuts for the wealthiest and independent economists agree their jobs 'plan' wouldn't create jobs, they're forced to attack what the President has said repeatedly: we have more work to do. But, as President Clinton noted, we simply can't afford to go back to the same failed policies that brought our economy to the brink of collapse in the first place – and that's exactly what Mitt Romney's offering," said Obama campaign spokesman Danny Kanner.

The job that Obama needs to do isn't over. That is the case that Clinton is making and Ryan is wrong. Clinton needed two terms to get us back after George H. W. Bush. Obama is in need of the same thing.
Clinton would say anything. His comments are only for those who actually think those good years during his Presidency were created by himself.
Can't argue with that logic. We know what the next 4 years will be under another Obama administration: Shortages, Deficits and Hardship.

I support romney, but obama is just a man like everyone else. We all feel joy and pain. This election is about disappointment more than failure. Clinton showed enough courage to be so open and honest. Funny that Clinton invited romney to speak at the Clinton Global Initiative conference. The whole thing is political - clinton respects romney yet talks about him like a dog while campaigning for obama. what else is the democrat party-affiliated clinton suppose to do?

Another example why we cannot let them get the keys to the White House. How would they handle a conflict with another country or negotiate a trade agreement? Twist words? Not a way to be a leader.

Nice try Ryan, but that won't work because you're not in the same league as former President Clinton, he will come back on Ryan with a vengence. Clinton as a real gift at throwing Romney/Ryan just enough red meat for them to hang themselves on and because they aren't smart enough not to take the bait.
