Obama's alternative energy bankruptcies

New York (CNNMoney) - President Obama is getting hammered for funding renewable energy companies that have since gone belly up.

During the first presidential debate, Mitt Romney said half of the companies Obama funded in the first two years through the program that supported Solyndra went bankrupt. That is true, in terms of that specific program, for just those two years.

The number of companies is virtually meaningless. What is the dollar amount? And what percentage of the total dollar amount did the bankrupt companies get?

It is always better to try and fail than to never have tried at all. many fisrt time adventures into the new world of technology will fail. it must change to new energy technology for good or bad. fossil fuels and coal are not the answers they are the disease that is causing wars and death in many ways. If petoleum distilates dont kill you from use then people who live in the exployted ares of mining will kill you later. this is the facts wethet we like it or not.

Would be nice if Romney did not spin his facts. the real truth seems therefore not to be sufficiently damaging for his purpose!?
As the Argonne case illustrates best ( as well as medical research projects and investments) when you do leading edge research or go into developing markets ( Venture capital companies also have failures of investment) the bottom line is you win few and lose few but as th medical researchers show internationally the ROI when you develop something totally new and unique is awesome. the Argonne example appears to be in that category but could fail. They are trying to do something no one else is able to do!!

We needed alternative Energy policies desperate–don't we know that this nation is sold out to Saudi kings for their oil??? While India is waking up Alternative policies, we are sleeping to get political gains to ruin this nation's Middle Class Americans even further. Get some education. I am tired of these GOP animals. Enough. Yes, on Pres. Obama12.
