(CNN) – Tagg Romney, Mitt Romney's oldest son, apologized to President Barack Obama Monday for saying he wanted to "take a swing" at him during contentious presidential debates.
Obama and Tagg Romney were seen speaking on the stage after Monday's final presidential debate, held at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida. Two Obama aides said the conversation included an apology for the remark, made last week during a radio interview.

Asked in that interview what it's like "to hear the President of the United States call your dad a liar," Tagg Romney joked about his fantasy response.
"Jump out of your seat and you want to rush down to the debate stage and take a swing at him," he said. "But you know you can't do that because, well, first because there's a lot of Secret Service between you and him, but also because that's the nature of the process. You know they're going to try to do anything they can do to make my dad into something he's not."
"We signed up for it, we've got to kind of sit there and take our punches, and send them the other way," he continued.
One of Tagg Romney's brothers, Josh, downplayed the comments in an interview on ABC's "The View."
"That brother has slugged me a couple of times," Josh Romney said. "I'm sure President Obama has nothing to worry about."
Asked about the original comments on Thursday, Romney campaign spokeswoman Amanda Henneberg said Tagg Romney was "joking about how frustrating this process can be for family."
CNN's Rachel Streitfeld contributed to this report.
OMG!!! Another apologist. Attack, Romney, attack. Oh, from your side huh? Never mind.
The secret service should have shot him...just in case...
Another flopper hoping to make an etch-a-sketch moment.
Judging by the polls, over half of America would like to 'take a swing" at Obama. What an utter non-news story.
why he is not arrested for making threats against the president of the united states?? b t w,i thought those mormons were against violence.
So I guess if his dad wins Tagg will not have a problem if someone takes a "swing"
at him ? Perhaps we will never know.
If Obama had a grown son and he would of threathened the President, he would have been sent to jail.
by his fathers logic it is a sign of weakness
Nice gesture..it shows that boy was raised right.
FLIP FLOP acorn don't fall far from the tree...
No respect Mitt & son not need to apply if you don't repect the office.
Like his father I'm certain he was about as sincere as a rattlesnake.
Didn't Romney blame parenting for violent instincts in youth during the 2nd debate in the context of gun violence?
I didn't think that Romney's believed in apologies.
Foward 2012 -2016 Obama USA
Why are the grown up men hanging around their father any way? Don't they have any thing else to do; may be these rich folks don't need to work.
How is this possibly a news story? Does anyone believe this was anything other than tongue-in-cheek comment? CNN will do anything to try to manufacture controversy for the Republicans.
CNN cannot influence me. I choose Romney!
Yeah what's up with bringing all those family member to the debate !!?? looks like a third world country airport where all your family, friends, even your enemies are waiting for you at the airport when you arrive !!!
So, the kid mans up and apologises, for something that was not that bad, and the people here continue their unthinking rants. Ask yourself if unconditional support for a candidate is actually all that wise. Is there anything that Obama could do to lose your support? Is that really a sane stance?
The fact that a 42 year old man would make such a comment about the President of the United States and receive support from many quarters only proves how far we've fallen.
The truth hurts.....
oh good grief you liberial tree huggers...honestly go get a sense of humor. Has Obama every apologized for calling an entire section of middle America "clinging to guns or religion". No? I didn't think so
I bet Tagg Romney he was so angry after that debate that he just had to go home and drink some Cocoa and watch a few episodes of "Moral Orel" just to calm down
It's the other Obama, the one facing him in the picture that Tagg should be worried about! She looks like she could whop the tar out of him!!!
