Obama's Facebook warning

(CNN) - Barack Obama has over 31 million fans on Facebook, so perhaps his advice about using the site comes with expertise.

He offered his two cents in response to a question from the reader of the magazine US Weekly, according to excerpts posted online.

- Check out the CNN Electoral Map and Calculator and game out your own strategy for November.

A 16 year-old reader from Detroit asked Obama for advice the president would give someone who aspires to reach the Oval Office himself.

"Be careful what you post on Facebook!" Obama said, according to the magazine.

"And most of all, take your education seriously," he added. "I'm only where I am today because I had great teachers and access to great education, and because I worked hard in school."

Obama's social media presence - which includes his Facebook, Twitter, and representation on other social media sites - is largely managed by his campaign, although his campaign has said he will occasionally make posts himself, which he signs with his initials.

A question for Repubs: Is the death penalty legal..? No no I assure you I'm not sick or a nut comparing the life of a child (fetus) to a murderer's but going by their their reasoning that every life is precious why do they stuanchly supports the death penalty so. I know I know a murderer is an evil person who does't deserve to live but he's still God's creature and He alone determines whether he lives or dies, right? So how come repubs support the DP so staunchly yet oppose abortion (legal) with such passion? I knw of only one kind of person who does that:a pharasee – the modern day Repub....World n# 1 hypocrite!

Looks like a bunch of younger people. They better have great grades and a good resume or they will be moving back in the mom & dad in the Obama Economy.

    Are you sure?

  4. Really??

Worked hard in school? I don't know about that; I heard he was doing drugs.
Let's see those college transcripts and then we'll know how hard he worked........well, if we don't get fake ones.

You know before you make a decision on who you vote for look at a couple of diversified news sources and see which ones hold back information. Since 9/11 some network news have reported on the attacks on Benghazi as little as ten times. Before I get hate mail try it with an open mind. Please no spelling checks from the Democrats.

As me, my family, and many friends all who are registerd Republicans have said .....we cannot and will not vote for Romney once we looked into the facts of how he wants to take away health benefits, social security, jobs and medicare, etc. People use your common sense......Romney does not care about you or the middle class. He has no plan except to lay off people, send American jobs oversees and unless you are very wealthy, you will be paying much, much higher taxes! He now refuses to answer any type of question to the public for the remainder of the campaign, plus his own state of Massachusetts won't vote for him..........why don't you people look into that..........He lies and he is very sneaky. He knows that most of you are easliy fooled and he is right! So be smart and don't be made a fool of and vote for Obama.............we sure are!

Romney would do what he has done all along... he has 5 sons and his hedge funds... had Obama not saved Auto industry, Romney would have gobbled up Detroit auto for $200 million turned around and sold it to Chinese for $6 billion. In the process, he would have killed the auto component industry in USA for good. Once component industry is dead in US, it can never come back. We all know that. Ask any one in the auto line, they will tell you. We need some one who can see national interests above personal financial gains. Romney = Wall St, and he will figure amongst some of the worst hated there. So long suckers... I have my financial lifeline... do you? In my next industry, I know I can hire people for $7/hr as many of these same White poor will get laid off if Romney wins... why is it that all White men that have been thru some bad times at jobs all support Obama? because they know what saved them during hard times. And with the new healthcare voucher program, you will see that hospitals will laugh at you when you go with some problems...

The president was the president of Harvard Law Review! Do some of you Obama critics even know how hard it is to make it into the Harvard Law Review, much less become president of it? Some of you who question his academic credentials are showing your sheer ignorance on these matters. Please do us all a favor and read up on the Harvard Law Review so that you will become informed and stop making these ridiculous assertions!

Let's face it folks. Anybody taking the time to post something on this page has long since made his/her mind up between Obama and Romney. So, we're all just doing you know what. The problem I have in this election is that while we know what Obama stands for and what he can do - and he did a pretty decent job for a first term, all things considered - we really don't know what we're getting with Romney. The guy wants to be President, so he has said anything that needs to be said at any given time. He is what he is, and that is a marketing guy. He sells stuff and says whatever he has to say to sell it. So, we have no idea what he is going to do on a lot of important issues. That's scary. One thing we do know, and about which he has been consistent his whole life, is that he will take care of the rich and pretty much ignore the needs of most, whether it's 47% or whatever. So, don't hate; just do the right thing with your vote. Can you really imagine Mitt Romney as President. Maybe the President of Brigham Young University, but not of the USA.

For a President who believes there 57 state
s in the Union, I would not believe he is an expert at anything, except how to follow the Communist destabilizati
on techniques referred to by Yuri Bezmenov.

It is amazing that there are so many Republicans who are so sure Romney willl "fix" the country when not even he will tell what he would do, what he would do with taxes, what he would do with the safety net but he does say he supports the Lying Ryan House budget which cripples the country and sets the safety net afire. Dio you have any idea what this flipper stands for on anything? All you should definately know is that he is an East Coast Harvard educated Elitist Liberal runnibng for the Republican candidancy because it is a job that is higher than what his daddy had. Shades of George W Bush and with all of the potential to destroy the economy and this country's standing in the world except as the biggest bully, a trait he seems to have mastered.

As the only President in history believing there are 57 states in the Union, his expertise is only involving the destabilization techniques referred too by Yuri Bezmennov.

For you that got upset about Obama calling Romney a BS-ter....... that is exactly what Romney is.... has changed positions several times on just about everything during this campaign and the primary campaign.... tells a particular audience whatever it is that they like to hear..... will not release his taxes like everyone else running for the Presidency has..... even other Republicans have repeatedly stated that he's not trustworthy and that he's unqualified (during the primaries pretty much all others stated this repeatedly). I am voting a straight Democratic ticket, even though I am an independent and have never voted a straight ticket before.

    @Concerned American
"I wouldn't vote for the president if you have me a million dollars... With Romney as president I would have a better chance of earning a million dollars.:"

You're kidding yourself. Unless you already have a million dollars, you have no business voting for Mittens McBS.

    @jpmichigan
You and TRump want to see Pres Obamas college transcripts , i notice you and most teabaggers dont ask Romney to show his college transcripts , Trump also wants to see Obamas passport , what about Romneys . Other teabaggers want to see Obamas full school records right down to kindergarten , others want to see his full medical records including what vaccinations he had as a child , they arent asking Romney for this information .
You say Obama "fabricated" parts of his autobiography , in a sense that could be considered partly true . but in reality what he did is what a lot of authors do , combine several characters or events to protect the privacy of the other people involved.

Makes me very sad to be an American reading all of this. I'm sure all of those complaining about Obama, and that he will destroy this country (if he hasn't already) are scarred, bandaged, eating out of dumpsters, and trying to find a new bridge to sleep under tonight. Give me a break! What exactly does Romney and the Republican party have in that koolaid? What exactly has Obama done that has hurt you personally? You are against what that he is standing for? Health care? Renewable Energy? Ending Wars? Better pay for women? Better education? You people say that he hasn't done enough in 4 years, but I would ask you WHO could have accomplished everything that they set out to accomplish with Washington infighting bringing everything to a standstill. Do you REALLY think that what Obama is trying to do is such a bad thing for America? Don't repeat what you heard in a commercial or soundbite...think about it. He deserves 4 more years to continue to build this economy. It is going in the right direction...and he should be allowed to continue that.

a romey/ryan win is a stepback in time-on all fronts–people who need assistances will see they are back to sharecropping type wages–Maybe the Lord is planning to return before we have to endure the hardships of a Romney/ryan ran America

CNN and FOXX want you to beleive Romney is winning so you will give up and not vote–never give in, never give up– just keep on stepping up and VOTE For Obama/Biden–the country is recovering--
Look at the gleefulness on thier faces–they have worked hard to get the polls adjusted to fit their desires–I am disappointed in CNN–Foxx is expected!

    A message for women....

Mitt Romney is for ending funding for Planned Parenthood...including cancer screenings.

He said he would overturn Roe v Wade.

We have Republicans trying to redefine rape....trying to force women to get invasive ultrasounds.

If you think this election won't effect you and your life, think again.

Vote for Barack Obama... .... ..

I can't believe how blind the Romney supporters are! You are voting for the exact policies that screwed the country up. You are voting for some pretty alarming religious beliefs. You are saying its ok that the wealthiest to pay a lower tax rate than the rest of us. You are voting for trickle down economics that never work. You are saying its ok that large companies ship our jobs overseas.......don't you get it?

1insite- Romney released 2 years of income tax; all that is required. If there was a problem with him paying taxes, the IRS would have already been in the midst of an audit. He's hiding nothing and Obama revealed nothing.
