5 things to watch in hurricane-wracked campaign

Washington (CNN) - While the presidential election has topped the news much of the year, it has been pushed aside by Hurricane Sandy as the storm crashed into the East Coast. Both President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney, their running mates, and backers have pretty much curtailed campaigning, some fundraising and advertising as they wait to see the severity of damage from the storm.

Here are five things to watch for in the storm and its aftermath:

In the midst of a hurricane weather update, at the height of our storm, Obama ran an ad for his re-election! Although as the campaign leader, he could have asked his team to pull this ad tonight, he obviously prioritized getting a job. Interesting also is that our area has had a huge loss of jobs, and while many in PA (actually VA to RI actually) would love to be focused on jobs today, many are more interested in the hurricane. Poor leadership decision. Voting for Romney for sure now. [P.S.: This is my first Twitter post.]

How long before Romney finds fault in our presidents handling of this crisis? It would be surprising if he did. It would also be very foolish. Let's hope he gives support in this time of need. America needs to see unity.

Funny how President Obama finally found the White House situation room now that he is starting to fall behind in the polls. Why was he not there when our people were fighting for their lives in Libya ? Or was he ? He flies to Florida on Sunday then flies right back to the white house that night to take charge of the hurricane Sandy situation ? You think someone told him that he had to go back to the White House during Sandy or really put the election firmly in Romney's hands ? I do . I think President Clinton told him to "get the hell back to D.C.or lose the election!" We need someone to take charge not someone that needs to be reminded what his job is !

Ryan has disappeared from public arena after proposing to cut 41% from disaster relief program. We don't want extremist like Ryan to run this country
