Obama: Hurricane Sandy will affect millions

(CNN) - Hurricane Sandy is a powerful storm that will affect millions of people, U.S. President Barack Obama said Monday.

"We are certain that this is going to be a slow-moving process through a wide swath of the country, and millions of people are going to affected," Obama said, speaking to reporters from the White House after a Situation Room briefing on the storm.

Obama called on Americans to heed local storm evacuation orders. Anyone who doesn't follow evacuation orders, he said, is "putting first responders in danger."

Well, certain areas of Hampton Roads have already lost power and are under water. We didn't even catch the storm head on, however it still is causing massive flooding. Can republicans see now why we need a massive infrastructure bill passed? The President's Jobs bill will put people back to work fixing our crumbling infrastructure. We've got an electrical grid from the 20th century that is not built to withstand the forces of nature in the 21st century.

These things are happining for a reason. First the RNC in Tampa now as we close in on Election Day. God is letting us know that he's still in control of anything & everything. The President was elected for a reason too. This is the true leadeship we need from a Commander-in-Chief....

    Obama 2012!

Where was he when our four brave Americans were brutally murdered in Benghazi? He could have prevented that – he can't prevent a hurricane. Oh, but I forgot – he claims he can part the waters and heal the planet. Election day is coming no matter what blows through.

Unlike Bush and the GOP, President Obama is concerned for all those affected by the present storm; no matter what their skin color.

I agree my 96 year old cousin said the same thing that God is truly in control because of so much fighting, name calling, lying and disrepect he cancelled everything to bring people to their senses.

Superstorm Sandy will certainly get everyone attention and this President has been called some of everything by the GOP and the Romney campaign but the President always will come out on top,

For all those Governors who said the government is spending too much and it should be left up to the states, how will they pay for the aftermath of this catastrophe? Governor Christie called the President incompetent and all other kinds of names but he was the first one to ask the President for emergency funds. Ryan and the GOP fought to cut emergency management funds but yet this President is so bad.

OBAMA needs to be elected because he cares for the 100% and not the 40% and how would Romney handle this situation he said leave it up to the states.

Why are the Repubs so outraged over the Benghazi attack...but we still have troops who are FIGHTING A WAR! Not one mention from Gov. Romney, his convention, or the debates. 4 Americans died. Investigation is still on going. Wait until all the facts are in. As far as Hurricane Sandy...wonder if those folks who will be directly affected and voting Repub will consider Gov. Romney's stance on FEMA. Smaller gov't sounds good. Until a ENTIRE state NEEDS help...Be careful what you wish for!

    "Hurricane Sandy will affect millions"

And all along, I thought it was a Republican plot to disenfranchise Democratic voters!

If he is so concerned why did he go on TV shows while 4 Americans were under seige for over 8 hours and he sent no help even when Italy and Eygpt said they could have troops on the ground in 4 hours? No thanks the Commander and Chiefless is only reacting now to his advisors saying Noobama you better react this time or you maybe out, what a disgrace to the Presidency and with blood on his hands!
