Romney's closing argument a picture of 'day one'

(CNN) – Mitt Romney's final message will focus on tasks he hopes to take on his first day in office if elected president, according to an outline of the themes that was provided by a senior Romney adviser.

"Throughout this campaign, Governor Romney talked about his 'Day One, Job One' approach to fixing the American economy. Now, as we close out the final days of this campaign, Governor Romney will return to this theme and use each day to talk about specific steps in his plan that will bring about 'real change on day one' in a Romney presidency," the plan reads, leading into bullet points on specific issues Romney will hit in the eight days before November 6.

- Follow the Ticker on Twitter: @PoliticalTicker

- Check out the CNN Electoral Map and Calculator and game out your own strategy for November.

All of the points relate to the economy, which has been Romney's theme since the beginning of his candidacy. Many of the points hark back to the GOP nominee's five point economic plan, which he unveiled at the beginning of August and has been using in nearly every speech since.

"The governor's message in these final days will be an optimistic one, focused on building a brighter future and focused on the big issues that Americans want their president to confront and develop solutions for," the note from the senior Romney adviser read.

The points Romney will hit are:

-Make the case for fundamental tax reform designed to help boost the middle-class and American competitiveness in the global marketplace.

-Talk about his plan to put the country back on track towards a balanced budget.

-Once again lay out his plan to reverse President Obama's cuts to our nation's military through sequestration.

-Describe his plan to expand trade and increase U.S. exports and also level the playing field with China by declaring them a currency manipulator.

-Explain his plan to achieve energy independence for North America.

-Focus attention on a comprehensive effort to fix our nation's schools and raise performance levels.

-Talk about his effort to halt the layers of new regulations, starting with Obamacare, introduced by President Obama that have burdened America's job creators.

Speaking on CNN's "State of the Union" Sunday, senior Obama adviser David Axelrod said the president's closing message was focused on telling voters why he needs four more years in the Oval Office.

"The president's closing message is exactly what I said before, which is we've made some progress," Axelrod told chief political correspondent Candy Crowley. "We have to build on that progress, and we have to move forward in a way that builds an economy that works for the middle class. What we can't do is go back to the failed policies of the past."

CNN's Jim Acosta contributed to this report.

The bottom line is that Obama is anti-business, the defecit has increased more under him than any other president, people who make more than $250,000 will be taxed more(that amount is not a wealthy!), he wants to punish those that are responsible by taxing them more, he is creating a welfare state and he has pushed our only true middle eastern ally, Israel, away by siding with extreme Muslim interests.

Just remember, Romney will tell you the details of his plan once he's elected and has a chance to work out the specifics with the Republican congress. I think we all know the details of his plan already!! If you believe this man, you'll also believe him when he tells you he can turn bricks into gold.... He'll share those details with you too after the election....I think we know who he's selling this sack of B.S. too

I don't know where the Obama "lies & failed policies" hash tag comes from, but it's an untruth repeated by Republicans & the people who vote for them! The policies he actually got passed by congress has saved us from a Deep Depression! Since there is a superstorm bearing down on our shores, I'll use it as an analogy! W's acts & policies was like a storm that almost demolished us! Like any disaster, there's the initial devastation, the displaced people, homes wrecked, no jobs to go to etc! Then comes the assessing of damage & trying to shore up damage so people can have access to basic needs! After that is the rebuilding process! That's the process Obama & those who are willing to work w/him have done for 4 yrs! Now imagine people coming in, swearing that they want to help, but instead thwart the effort for their own purposes! There's the hold up & the real lies! Obama is egalitarian, Romney is a plutocrat in a "moderate's" clothing! Obama Nov6!!

How refreshing to have a man with a plan – way to go Mitt Romney, looking forward to your day one!

Obama doesn't have a prayer – why else would a sitting president who won by a landslide in 2008 need to spend $280 Million on ads to Romney's $130 Million? Answer -> because he hasn't accomplished anything and his only hope of even making it a race has been to flood advertising and act unpresidential in his negative ads, name-calling and joking around. Its time for a serious, decent, dedicated man to run this country, and Barack Obama has proven it isn't him!

You see, this is the problem. This Republican ask the question why the President has to spend 280 million on ads when Romeny only spent 130 million. Well, if you took your head out of the sand, you would know that Joe Isuzu also has the Rupublican Super PAC supporting him....these are billionaires trying to buy the White House. When you have a candidate like Joe Isuzu running we know he can easily be brought!!

...ENVIRONMENT.....pollute all you want,,,I am removing all remaining environmental restrictions and drilling in Yellowstone

...ABORTION.....1 more judge then overturn Roe Vs. Wade..Then hire 12 million bedroom cops to keep women in line.
...NATIONAL DEFENSE....Russia, Libya, China, Syria, Iran are our sworn enemies..start treating them that way...

Don't forget to tell people he GAVE AWAY his entire inheritance. What he has, he made on his own.
Did the Mitt Romney who grew up in one of the wealthiest communities in America make it on his own?

Did the Mitt Romney who attended an elite preparatory school make it on his own?

Did the Mitt Romney who hid for 30 months in France to avoid the draft make it on his own?

Did the Mitt Romney who worked as an intern for his father, the governor of Michigan make it on his own?

Did the Mitt Romney who never had to borrow a dime to attend Stanford University, Brigham Young University, and, for his joint JD/MBA degree, Harvard University make it on his own?

Did the Mitt Romney whose father's riches allowed Mitt and his wife to begin having children while they were still undergraduates and not have to worry about dropping out or getting a job to feed the kids, give them medical care, or send them to the schools of their choice make it on his own?

Did the Mitt Romney who got hired at a high-level job by one of his daddy's friends make it on his own?

How much did the gifts from daddy contribute to Mitt Romney's fortune? How many Americans can say we've had the opportunities Romney was given? This is the same Romney that had "You didn't build it!" printed on his tour bus.

Romney spent a good portion of his time in the debates talking about how he will create jobs as president, and then goes on to say in his closing arguments, government doesn't create jobs.

Does this guy even hear what comes out of his mouth???

Does he remember anything he says for more than 30 seconds???

My vote is going for a third party, because the Dems and Reps are both bought & paid for, and Obama & Romney are nothing more than Tweedledum & Tweedledee...far more alike than different.

Romney can only win by lying, and with the support of lairs. Here are a few floating around now:

"The list of nutty fabrications about Obama, his administration and Democrats is long. Here's a small sample from

    • Obama intends to force a complete ban on all weapons for U.S. citizens through a United Nations treaty. Total paranoid fantasy - Obama has actually broadened the number of places where citizens can carry guns.

    • Barack and Michelle Obama surrendered their law licenses to avoid ethics charges. Another big lie.

    • This dictatorial president has issued 900 executive orders, some creating martial law. Wrong - he's signed 139 executive orders, none establishing extraordinary powers.

    • The government bought 79% of the vehicles sold by General Motors in June. Nope, completely false.

    • The Democratic National Convention hosted a Muslim prayer service while rejecting prayers from a Catholic cardinal. Another falsehood - the Muslim service took place in a park and the cardinal gave the convention’s final prayer.

    • Obama plans to deny emergency brain surgery to patients over 70, do away with the National Day of Prayer and get rid of the White House Christmas tree. Once again, lie, lie, lie. "

Mitt Romney's (aka; Joe Isuzu) plan is strategically crafted to target certain voters. This used car salesman is selling a bunch of mularky to the American people.... I can't believe there are people outside the top 2% that is buying what he's selling.

"No jobs report until after the Election? Surprise"

Presidents don't get to pick when jobs reports come out. That isn't his job. Maybe it's back up? Maybe it's even lower than it was. You seem to want unemployment to be higher. Surprise. Republicans have been pulling for a failed economy ever since you destroyed it and Obama took over. You managed to slow the recovery as much as humanly possible and I give you props for trying so hard, but you threw America under the bus yet again and that's not a very nice thing to do. I might consider voting for a Republican if they stopped trying to destroy everything and actually cared about their fellow human being even the slightest bit.

Wow know I know why CNN ratings are in the tank. All the liberal lies. Obama had full control for 2 years with a Democrat House and Senate and yes when the majority of Americans didn't want Obamacare and polls how they still don't he passed it. Democrats controlled the House from 2006 on. Democrats pushed for the Community Reinvestment act and Frank and Dodd kept saying they were fine before the bubble burst.
I really wonder why all you liberals are so jealous of Romney. Who care what he made and how much he is worth. He worked. Big difference from the Community Organizer. AND YES he broke all his promises to cut the debt, work with Congress, fix Medicare. AND he by executive order passed the DREAM ACT when it failed in Congress multiple times, ignored DOMA, tells Catholic hospitals to buy birth control. Don't you guys see your liberties being slowly taking away. How has Communism/ Socialism worked elsewhere. Give me one example. Maybe if you quit just watching CNN you might learn something and quit being driven by envy of success. Pathetic.

I hear you....but, you'll be throwing your vote away. It's always best to vote for the candidate that will do the best job to help all of us and not just those at the top. We know Mitt is not the guy, and a vote for a 3rd party candidate is a wasted vote because realistically speaking, there is noway that person will be elected President because we really don't know much about them because they don't have money for ads and the media just ignores them. The only logical choice is to re-elect President Obama.

Hurray for Romney's wealth, the fact that he followed the American dream and made it on his own! And hurray for the fact he has given so much of it away! Kennedy's wealth came illegally from his father's involvement during prohibition. Don't hear the dems talking about that! My real reason for writing.....where in the world is Condoleza Rice? America needs to be seeing much more of her this week. And same with Marco Rubio! He needs to be seen on TV touting his candidate and getting exposure for his future run!
