Obama campaign to begin advertising in Michigan
Washington (CNN) - The Obama campaign will begin advertising in Michigan later this week, a campaign aide confirmed to CNN. It is going up with ads beginning Thursday through Election Day.
This comes in light of continuing advertising in the state by the super PAC Restore Our Future, which is backing Mitt Romney. It has been up in Michigan for several weeks and just announced it is putting in $2.2 million there, as part of its final week buy.

"We're not going to let them make a play anywhere," an Obama campaign official said.
While Michigan has been considered a safe Democratic presidential state this year, recent polls have shown a narrowing race. An Oct. 4-6 poll by the firm EPIC/MIRA showed the president with a 48%-45% lead over Romney with a 4% sampling error.
Mitt and Ann Romney are Michigan natives and had hoped that would help build support for the GOP nominee there.
Ann Romney attended the Detroit Tigers World Series game in Detroit Sunday and then stumped on Monday in the western part of the state in Traverse City and Grand Rapids. According to local press reports, she told a crowd of about 500 in Grand Rapids how important it would be to win there, and she held out her right hand in the shape of a mitten symbolizing the shape of Michigan.
For the Republican ticket to do well it needs to have a strong showing in the western part of the state.

Romney is fooling himself. This is his state allright. He threw Michigan under the bus when they needed the most help. If it wasn't for President Obama, Michigan would be flatlined. If you think Romney is better for our country, you better look at your own state of Michigan. For that matter, you need to also look at the surrounding businesses in and out of state that would have been devastated

Citizens of Michigan, who earnestly speaks for the plight of the poor, the homeless, the sick and hungry and yes its President Obama that stands out not Mitt Romney? Define who a Christian should be the characteristics of caring for others and realize that a president of the USA represents all races, faiths and lifestyles. He is correct in not wanting to impose every Christian ruling according to the conservative interpretation of the bible because he represents all Americans and yet in his own walk can and does represent an image to be emulated.
In all the years that I've watched presidential elections, the surest indicator of who's going to win is where the ad dollars are being committed late in the campaign.
Romney's campaign is buying ad time in states that were, just a few weeks ago, considered to be out-of-reach for him but that are now in play.
Obama's campaign is buying ad time to try and shore up states that should be safely Deomcratic.

if Romney wins the presidential election, our space program will be seriously affected giving china and russia to become leaders of space technology and exploration. many big businesses will also be affected and unemployment will increase. millions of small business related to medicare / medicaid / old age homes / homes for elderly, housing /hud for poor people will close down and unemployment will increase. small businesses created by and run by ambitious people will suffer great blow because their education at lower price will be affected and low interest or interest free loan for their education will not be available, illiteracy will up among youths and adults and this will prevent rise of small businesses. only rich will get richer and their surplus will only be available to middle and poors as charity. this will destroy confidence among youths, women and all segments of population except ultra rich people. Obam's victory will protect our american nation and will take us truly forward.
I am from the Western Michigan area and I can tell you that the vote is split 50/50..I know a lot of people that voted for Obama that are no longer voting for him...I think Michiganders need to be reminded of HOW MUCH Mitt Romney is like George W. Bush..and how without the support that Obama has given to so many people and companies..there would not have been ANY recovery! It has been proven time and time again that companies in and of themselves cannot bring about a recovery. I laugh when I hear Mitt talking about lowering taxes for corporations because they need more "capital" to hire more workers. BUT when you talk to companies they all say that they are NOT going to hire more people just because they have more capital BUT ONLY when they have an INCREASED demand! I would LOVE to hear how MITT would increase demand!!
