In fiery speech, Giuliani calls on Obama to resign, faults him for Libya

(CNN) - Not long after taking a few seconds of silence for those affected by Superstorm Sandy, Rudy Giuliani began ripping into President Barack Obama on Friday while speaking at major campaign event for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan in Ohio.

The former New York City mayor delivered a series of blistering zingers against the president, rallying the massive crowd with line after line of reasons why Obama should "resign" and faulting him for "incompetence" over the Libya consulate attacks.

With new numbers showing the unemployment rate had ticked up to 7.9%, Giuliani said the Obama administration should be "ashamed of themselves" for framing the figure as a positive sign. Giuliani, however, did not mention that 171,000 jobs were added last month–more than economists were expecting.

"He should resign! He told us he would resign if he did this poorly," Giuliani said, referring to a 2009 interview in which Obama vowed to turn the economy around in three years, otherwise there would be a "one-term proposition."

Giuliani continued to fire off: "He lied. He has been a disaster. The worst president for our economy in our lifetime. He doesn't want a second term. He wants a second chance, because he screwed it up the first time."

The former mayor, who also ran for president in 2008, pivoted to Romney's business experience, saying it should be considered a strength and blasted Democrats for making it a target on the campaign trail.

"They tried to humiliate him because of that. You know something, if Governor Romney can have the success for America that he had for Bain Capital, Thank God! Our people would be working again," Giuliani said, referencing Romney's former private equity firm.

Giuliani received perhaps his biggest applause of the night when he focused on the Benghazi consulate attacks, which killed four Americans, including the U.S. ambassador to Libya, in September. The administration is now investigating why the diplomatic post was not robustly staffed prior to and during the attacks.

The former mayor, a top surrogate for Romney's campaign, argued the violence would not have happened if Sen. John McCain had won the presidential election in 2008.

"Maybe if we had a president who was paying attention, we wouldn't be going through all this investigation of what's being covered up about Libya," he said.

He told the audience they have a chance to "right that wrong" by removing the president from office.

"You know that what happened in Libya is the result, at least, of incompetence," he said.

Giuliani placed the responsibility squarely on the Ohio audience to make the change in the Oval Office.

"You know what stands in his way? You know what's going to stop him? Ohio! You're going to do it," he said.

Giuliani is desperate and just spitting out words in an attempt to get votes for Romney. I suspect he forgot about someone in charge in New York by the name of Governor Cuomo. Pres. Obama has offered federal help to New York and New Jersey. If more is needed, he's indicated his people will make the calls within 15 minutes to get New Yorkers and those in New Jersey what they need. Pres. Obama has already ordered an ease of the gasoline crunch by sending in gas via the military.

6 trillion in debt, no improvement in unemployment, weakening economic growth, drop in median household income even while income disparity is at an 80 year high, bungling of Benghazi and then lieing to America about it.. If this was a Republican in office the media would be eating him alive. Just goes to show how charisma can outdo competance.

"Giuliani says Obama 'should resign,' faults him for Libya"

Giuliani couldn't care less about Libya. Giuliani was paid by Mitt-wit to parrot Mitt-wit's vomited nonsense.

Rudy needs to pack up his tent and walk away from politics. His day in the sun is long since over! Rudy and Romney want you to trust that they would have done a better job fixing the economy than Pres. Obama, yet neither of them had the skill or wherewithal to win their pary nomination for president four years ago. Obama simply has more God given talent than either of them, period. That being said Rudy and Romney can keep on bloviating about what could've and should've been all the way until November 6th.

It looks like FEMA is not handling the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy very well. I've heard a lot of news on the radio(KTAR here in AZ) that there's a lot of looting, fist-fights and people drawing guns at each other just to get gas for their cars, and people looking through piles of garbage to find food! It's complete chaos up there right now! And this will reflect very badly on the Obama administration. The way the federal gov't handles Sandy will determine who will be our next POTUS for the next 4 years.

All of sudden America cares about what Rudy Giuliani thinks about this landslide Romney is about to get. I hope its the longest night he ever had in his life. Oh my god, I can't wait for the concession speech. You do not understand.

The real story is Rudy Giuliani used a noun a verb and didn't follow it with 9/11. He should think about being Mayor again though because Dictator Bloomberg sucks.

I'd be more inclined to believe in his honesty if he'd also called for Bush's resignation after the attack on the US. Obviously he measures fault along party lines and whether it's convenient or not.

Giuliani has not said anything sensible in more than 5 years. Maybe he will never say anything sensible again.
He should shut up, retire from politics, and stop degrading his own image.

Amazing, Giuliani is trashing our president, and Mayor Bloomberg endorsed our president for re-election. Obama is no more responsible for the Libya attacks than Giuliani and Bush are for 9-11.

And Bush should have resigned after 9/11? Or maybe Giuliani should have resigned?

It is an absolute disgrace to try to make political points off of an unforeseen event.
The event has been seen as both a terrorist and a spontaneous event.
If viewed as terrorist, how many warning signs did Bush have of an event?
The arguments being equal, should Americans have rallied around the President or call for his resignation?
He (the political party) who has no sin, better take another look in the mirror.

It seems as if there has not been an honest declaration to AMERICA what went wrong in Benghazi, and who is to blame. Nonetheless, many of us have already made up our minds on this issue. It's embarrassing to our country and shameful before the world that we have a leader who has not acknowledged and taken responsibility for the complete account of what really happened.
Furthermore, as a so called "Christian" leader who has called for redefining the family, he has in effect, called for redefining the bible. This should be an outrage to every Christian. In regards to abortion, even the unborn babies are screaming, "Obama, Obama...Lama Sabachthani?...why have you forsaken me? Could it be because they can't vote?

And you, Mr. Guilani should kill yourself for the following reasons...

Back in 1999 and 2000, when Rudy was cheating on his second wife, he used public money and policemen to carry on his affair. How? Let me count the ways -
    - City-financed trips to Southampton, the expensive celebrity resort where his girlfriend had a condo
    - Undercover police drove his girlfriend (Judith Nathan) around New York, when Guiliani was nowhere near.
"She used the PD [police department] as her personal taxi service," according to one former Giuliani staffer.
    - Those police drove Judith 130 miles to Pennsylvania to visit her parents.
    - Those police drove Judith's FRIENDS around the city, even when SHE wasn't there.
    - Guiliani even made 2 police detectives walk Nathan's DOG. Yes, New York's finest, scooping up poop from the mayor's mistress' dog.

Romney is offering to work in a bipartisan way with Democrats, and he has a records that shows he works well with Democrats. Obama didn't bring us together, he did not offer the change we can believe in. Obama did passed healthcare through democrats alone...he forgot that Republicans and Independents are Americans too. Obama didn't focus on the economy his first two years as he should have, instead he focused on Healthcare. He polarized us, he divided us, he did not give us a strong economical recovery. Romney is offering and will deliver the real change that Americans, main street, desperately need.

The fact that this race is apparently so close demonstrates three things. 1) Obama has done a terrible job defending his terrible record. 2) Romney has done a terrible job attacking the presidents terrible record. 3) the American people when taken as a whole, are far too easily fooled by political con men.
