In fiery speech, Giuliani calls on Obama to resign, faults him for Libya

(CNN) - Not long after taking a few seconds of silence for those affected by Superstorm Sandy, Rudy Giuliani began ripping into President Barack Obama on Friday while speaking at major campaign event for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan in Ohio.

The former New York City mayor delivered a series of blistering zingers against the president, rallying the massive crowd with line after line of reasons why Obama should "resign" and faulting him for "incompetence" over the Libya consulate attacks.

With new numbers showing the unemployment rate had ticked up to 7.9%, Giuliani said the Obama administration should be "ashamed of themselves" for framing the figure as a positive sign. Giuliani, however, did not mention that 171,000 jobs were added last month–more than economists were expecting.

"He should resign! He told us he would resign if he did this poorly," Giuliani said, referring to a 2009 interview in which Obama vowed to turn the economy around in three years, otherwise there would be a "one-term proposition."

Giuliani continued to fire off: "He lied. He has been a disaster. The worst president for our economy in our lifetime. He doesn't want a second term. He wants a second chance, because he screwed it up the first time."

The former mayor, who also ran for president in 2008, pivoted to Romney's business experience, saying it should be considered a strength and blasted Democrats for making it a target on the campaign trail.

"They tried to humiliate him because of that. You know something, if Governor Romney can have the success for America that he had for Bain Capital, Thank God! Our people would be working again," Giuliani said, referencing Romney's former private equity firm.

Giuliani received perhaps his biggest applause of the night when he focused on the Benghazi consulate attacks, which killed four Americans, including the U.S. ambassador to Libya, in September. The administration is now investigating why the diplomatic post was not robustly staffed prior to and during the attacks.

The former mayor, a top surrogate for Romney's campaign, argued the violence would not have happened if Sen. John McCain had won the presidential election in 2008.

"Maybe if we had a president who was paying attention, we wouldn't be going through all this investigation of what's being covered up about Libya," he said.

He told the audience they have a chance to "right that wrong" by removing the president from office.

"You know that what happened in Libya is the result, at least, of incompetence," he said.

Giuliani placed the responsibility squarely on the Ohio audience to make the change in the Oval Office.

"You know what stands in his way? You know what's going to stop him? Ohio! You're going to do it," he said.

  1. Who Is This Guy Again?

So is this ex-mayor in his funny red shirt saying his and W's incompetence and inattention were responsible for the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001?

Seriously? With this logic, we should wonder why Rudy did not resign on 9/11.

Republicans, like Guiliani want more STATE control less federal help yet and then now complain when President doesn't babysit 24/7 their own jobs of using state and FEDERAL resources to help victims. Guliani he knows very well Bush flew in for photo opps and flew out of 911 . Democrats rallied around Guiliani and all sides came together as American's to supported his work during 911 and did not use recently dead bodies and displaced disaster victims for political gain

Giuliani praises Bain Capital, implying America needs to hire a crook for POTUS if we ever expect to be able to work again. Thinly veiled threats will get you nowhere, silly GOP!

I don't remember you asking Ford to step down, when he gave a Presidental pardon to all the draft dodgers in Canada-Because that was how he could get his draft dodging son, back to the states. And, I don't remember you saying Bush should step down when we invaded Iraq-Because of mass weapon of war! And, there wasn't any. So,, you see Mr. Obama as far as I can see is doing a good job. He just isn't a Republican, and he doesn't believe in favortism. Because Nixon should have gone to jail. Ford shoudn't have pardoned the draft dodgers. And, Bush should have been impeached!

Republicans, like Guiliani want more STATE control less and federal help. Now for votes abandon their own views– They find ANY EXCUSE TO complain AND NOW WHINE when President doesn't babysit 24/7 their own jobs of using state and FEDERAL resources to help victims. Guliani knows very well Bush flew in for photo opps and flew out of 911 . All parties rallied around Guiliani and ALL sides came together as Americas to supported his work during 911 and did not use recently dead bodies and displaced disaster victims for votes. Cheap posturing and back

Please – take a seat Rudi. Romney's experience at Bain Capital is a good thing? Do you know what a Venture Capitalist is? Let me provide an example: A venture capitalist is the kind of person who would buy out a company to get their hands on the pension fund. So they could provide a high rate of return to their stockholders while stealing the pensions of everyone who worked for the company they took over. That is the kind of stuff they do – does it sound like the kind of job that prepares a person to be president of the USA? Only in Rudi land.

What's going on here? How did Rudy, our wonderful NYC mayor and 9/11 hero, turn into such a nut job? Why he would sully his reputation this way is a mystery. Time for the old fool to disappear.

I guess Giuliani was dumped by his harem so he tries to preach to the American Public about dangers . America is safest when someone is watching Giuliani to curtail his penchant for womanizing. We need preaching from Rudy just like we need water during a flood.

Where was Bush's call to resign after he let the attacks of 9/11/2001 happen??? And isn't Bush the worst president for the economy in our lifetime seeing as the economy crashed under his administration?? Something to ponder..

It seems Obama accomplished much of what he wants to do – bring us much closer to Marxism, unfortunately.

Romney /Ryan 2012 for a chance to restore our freedom and economy.

Rudy Guiliani thinks that Romeny fit to be president because he was successful stock manager should then nominate half of wall street who make more than Mitt in a day. Making money is not prerequisite to public service as clearly demonstrated by Donald Trump and countless others with too much money and no concept of probity (integrity ). greater good and thoughtful leadership and diplomacy. Running a hedge fund proves none of those things.

Turn out the lights, the party’s over. This is not 2008, when Obama essentially ascended to the throne without a record. Given the brutal descent he has made and the enormity of evidence against him –Fast and Furious, 27 'hidden' taxes in Obamacare, trillion dollar deficits 3 years in a row, crippling federal debt, record unemployment, and now the Benghazi – Al Qaeda Terrorist Attack and subsequent cover-up– I am confident that the righteously indignant voters will turn out in numbers unlike any we’ve seen in decades. On November 6, the American people are going to take this presidential charlatan out of office. The Obama Deception is OVER.

The level of disrespect that the GOP has shoen to Obama as a man and a President will come back to BITE THEM. He is hardly incompetent. In fact he is MORE competent than Romney, McCain, & Bush COMBINED. Romney couldn`t spell "U-S-M-C" if you spotted him the 1st three letters.

And Guliani, who takes him SERIOUSLY? His credibility is right down there with Donald Trump`s; Rudy is a joke. He, not unlike Palin. have milked the limelight for as long as they could.

Ancient Rome had it well identified and we know what happened to them…
“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague.” Quote by: Marcus Tullius Cicero (106-43 B.C.) Roman Statesman, Philosopher and Orator Source: Attributed. 58 BC, Speech in the Roman Senate
