Palin PAC donates to Romney's campaign

(CNN) – Sarah Palin's political action committee donated $5,000 to Mitt Romney's presidential campaign on the last day of October, according to filings with the Federal Election Commission.

The amount, while not huge compared to the large donations both candidates have received from individual donors and other committees, is on par with what Palin's group (Sarah PAC) has donated to other Republican candidates running for House and Senate.

For instance, Sarah PAC has given two donations at $5,000 apiece to Rep. Allen's West's re-election bid, and donated a similar pair of $5,000 donations to Ted Cruz, running for U.S. Senate in Texas. Both of those candidates have received strong backing from tea party groups.

The former Alaska governor and 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate said in March she voted for Newt Gingrich in her state's GOP primary. During the hard fought contest between Gingrich, Romney, and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, she chided the eventual nominee for not connecting enough with conservative voters.

"We can't afford to have low voter turnout in the general election, and that is all the more reason for Romney to really start connecting more with conservatives," she told CNN at the Conservative Political Action Conference in February.

In a statement released when Romney chose Rep. Paul Ryan as his running mate, Palin expressed support for the Republican ticket, but didn't expressly use the word "endorse" to describe her feelings toward her party's new standard bearers.

"Congratulations to Mitt Romney on his choice of Congressman Paul Ryan as his running mate," Palin wrote in a statement, which mentioned Romney's name only four times and Ryan's name only three out of over 1,100 words. The statement was posted on her Facebook page.

The donation from Palin's political action committee to Romney's campaign was reported by, among others, The Washington Post.

CNN's Peter Hamby contributed to this report.

It would seem awkward to take money from someone who cannot win a chess game with a hamster. She really needs the ambassador's job in Pakistan or Libya. I am certain that she can promote education for women and christianity. Hey, they love her so much that she would not even need a kevlar vest. Please just go away as soon as possible and thereby help save our environment.

"Sarah Palin's political action committee donated $5,000 to Mitt Romney's presidential campaign on the last day of October, according to filings with the Federal Election Commission."

What a cheap skate! . . . she made multi-millions alone by the attention she got for running for vice president . . . $5000?!? And she calls herself a "super PAC"?.

This woman is a fraud and a joke and the world would be a much better place if she'd re-find that hole she crawled out of and crawl back in it . . . nobody worth their weight supports an idiot like this anyway. Perhaps a few lunatics on the "fringe" of society, but that's about it. She needs to go back to Wasilla and gaze at Russia from her front porch.

After watching his new movie, "Campaign," I had to get up and walk out, it was so crude. He said he would eat trash is we voter for Obama......well, he could chew up and swallow that movie; that will suffice.

No matter which one wins, they should give the ambassadorship to Kazakhstan. That way she can say i can see Russia from where i live. What a loser.

This is a farce. If she was serious, she would have made a much larger donation since the PAC certainly could afford it. She did this strictly to get publicity and put her name in the public eye again, regardless of how undeserving it is.

Only $ 5k? Her PAC must not be doing that well if that's all she can afford to give to the presidential candidate of her party. Or maybe she's just saving her resources to eventually back candidates as crazy and incompetent as she is.

Do think that the Red Cross could use the money more than the Republican candidates. But the Republicans seem to be thinking only of themselves these days. Just looking at their ads makes one very sad. How low can we go!

Whatever she donates people will show resent? Satisfying people is something that can never be achieved.

First- read the article. it was the last day of October
Second- I'm such Michael Moore has given more to Obama than Palin to Romney, so why exactly is this is story? Oh to be a hit piece on Palin and mention how she "only" mention Romney four times.

    quite a slant, but expected.
