Palin likes Romney in overnight Facebook post

(CNN) - Sarah Palin skewered President Barack Obama on Monday and urged voters to turn out for Mitt Romney in a Facebook post, as close to an endorsement as she's come for the GOP presidential nominee.

"Tuesday is our chance to turn things around," the former Alaska governor wrote. "Please vote for Governor Mitt Romney and the commonsense conservatives running for office in your states."

Her post went up shortly after midnight East Coast time–during the 8 p.m. hour in Alaska.

While the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee had not previously offered an official endorsement to Romney or campaigned for the candidate, Palin's political action committee last month donated $5,000 to his White House bid. She also offered some praise for the GOP ticket when Rep. Paul Ryan was announced as Romney's running mate in August.

Palin said in March she voted for Newt Gingrich in her state's GOP primary. During the hard fought contest between Gingrich, Romney, and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, she chided the eventual nominee for not connecting enough with conservative voters.

The bulk of Palin's Facebook post on Monday, however, focused on her disapproval of Obama, leaving the latter end of her statement to encourage voters to cast their ballots for Romney.

In her criticism, Palin charged Obama with failing to live up to his 2008 campaign promises, drastically increasing the federal debt, and providing a lack of leadership in the aftermath of the U.S. consulate attack in Benghazi, Libya.

"What's past is prologue. We know what we will get from a second Obama term because we've all endured his first term," she wrote.

She also stressed an emphasis on congressional races, cautioning against Democratic gains in either chamber.

"We saw the destruction a Democrat controlled White House, House, and Senate brought us after the 2008 election. Our country can't afford that again," she wrote. "Your vote is the only safeguard against that happening."

Ex-irrelevant-old-news-half-term-governor is not praising Romney by heart, just after 15 minutes of fame.
So long as this kind of people are around republican party, president Obama's going to serve his 2nd term easily.

Thanks, Sarah. If that doesn't get Obama voters out to the polls, nothing will.

The hopey changy girl has zero significance politically. The Gop and the Tea party have washed their hands of this valueless half term quitter. No GOP president would consider her for any cabinet position. She is at best a mascott for the obstructionist party.

I am sure Mitt is just basking in this "endorsement". He wanted her endorsement so much that he told her to stay away from the RNC.

Well stimulus package alone will not result in a vibrant economy. look at china manufacturing is . So my friend if your choice of candidate is reliant on stimulus to create job then he is void of economic knowledge. A country needs fiscal and monetary policy. Tax cut increase spending power of consumers, developing of oilfields creating new payable jobs. That is sound economic planning. Well stimulus after stimulus after stimulus and when the stimulus expand the national debt then comes the nightmare of Europe. Its up to you to decide .

Sarah still has that crush on Obama and her eleventh hour support of Romney is pathetic, if she really thought he was the right person she would have jumped on his wagon months ago.One sure way to get the Democrats out to vote is by letting Sarah Palin try to speak on serious subjects and it reminds everyone how Republicans are Party First,Country Second kind of group that wilfully and with malice held the country and economy hostage in order to support their own selfish agenda

  17. ThinkAgain: All of the GOP's policies are proven failures!

@Leo: "... the urgent matter of the country is economy and I think he is a far better option than Obama after these 4 years. Thats why I'll go with my gut feeling and give change a chance for the countries sake."

Mittens is proposing the failed policies that got us into a mess in the first place. Independent studies, like the CBO, show that his and Munster's budget, don't add up and will increase the deficit, while further widening the income gap.

Your "gut" is wrong, Leo, and you should look in the mirror and seriously ask yourself what it is about YOU that you are letting yourself be manipulated into voting against your own self-interest.

Obama/Biden 2012 = 32 straight months of private sector growth and counting
