Boehner lays down a marker on taxes
Washington (CNN) - Shortly after multiple networks projected that Republicans would retain control of the House, Speaker John Boehner took to the stage with a message that looked ahead to the battle over the fiscal cliff - the GOP isn't budging on taxes.
"With this vote, the American people have also made clear that there is no mandate for raising tax rates," Boehner told supporters at the Ronald Reagan building in Washington.
CNN reported Tuesday night that it was mathematically impossible for the GOP to win back control of the Senate, while President Barack Obama won re-election to a second term.
Congress returns next week for the lame duck session. It faces major decisions about how it will head off the series of automatic spending cuts that are set to go into effect at the beginning of next year, and the Bush era tax cuts that are due to expire at the end of December.

When you Liberals talk about the GOP stonewalling have you forgotten about Harry Reid. In the past he promised that no bill with GOP fingerprints on it would get past him and he's kept his word. Reid also said that if Romney was elected he would work with or talk to Romney. He said he just could not work with Romney, ever. I guess that this would not be stonewalling because he's a Democrat. Double standards are a hallmark of the Liberal philosophy.

Are you not hearing the message? Or are you only listening to the voices in your head?
Coming from the guy who predicted a Romney victory. Boehner's getting more and more uncomprehending of the United States that he's sworn to represent.
If the country goes down the fiscal cliff, it will be the legacy of Boehner, Mitch McConnell, the Koch brothers, Canter and others of their ilk who have no vision except seeing that their own self interests continue to be bought and paid for ahead of working cooperatively for the common good. They are the new definition of "The Hollow Men." throwing down their gauntlet of "my way or the highway".

If john B. wants to make this the last time he is elected then go ahead block, philibuster, and refuse to do what the majority of the US Voters want.
