Washington (CNN) - Barack Obama will be re-elected as president of the United States, CNN projects. He will win the critical swing state of Ohio, putting him over the 270 electoral votes needed to secure the White House, CNN projects
Mitt Romney took an early lead over Obama with more than half the races decided Tuesday, but the Republican challenger lost both his home and birth states and was trailing in key battleground states, according to unofficial returns and CNN projections.
FULL STORY

The republican party needs to make some big changes to ever get this guy back on their side. To start with stop with the lies and scare tactics. Divide and concur is not going to work. The citizens of this country are too smart for that as we proved in this election. Now let's start to work together and fix the things that need fixed and build on the things that are working.
Jay i agree with you completely. A few shouldn't be allowed to dictated the voice of the many. Even if we voted them in. The electoral college was a great idea when we didn't have all the technology we have today but now it should be changed.
Lord Help Us!!!!
Good triumphs over evil!!!

Mitch McConnell is up for re-election (or not) in 2 years - maybe it's time to put a really good Democrat in there to run against him.
Congratulations America for returning Obama as President.
Obama won both the popular and the electoral votes.

Let's do the right thing and pray for Mitt Romney and his family.
Obama 2012!!!
I am glad that Obama won, I would rather have him as president rather than Romney... but however I wish Americans would realize that we have more to choose from rather than the right and left. We have other political parties who would like to have the opportunity to represent us. We in our own fear and ignorance allow ourselves to believe that it is a two party race. If we wish for change we should vote in good conscience and common sense.. not in fear, knowing and hoping for the lesser of two evils. This is our own perception and accept it blindly to be as such.
Thank god obama's back
Unfortunately I live in a state that is predominantly republican, yet 78% of my city New Orleans voted for President Obama......Team Obama...congratulations from New Orleans Louisiana
Romney wanted to fix the country, Obama just wants to be president. Romney has been more than successful at everything he's done. He didn't just make money, he made hundreds of millions, he didn't organize the Olympics, he did what someone else who was competent failed to do. In Massachusetts, he did what politicians had been trying to do for decades and came up with the best healthcare system any state has ever seen. What has Obama done? Obama is good at getting elected and that's it. Now in his second term he will do even less than he did in his first.
Congratulations President Obama from about 80% of us in New Orleans Louisiana
