Climate change is back on the table

New York (CNNMoney) - Climate change is once again a hot topic in the Untied States.

Hurricane Sandy brought the issue back into the spotlight just days before the presidential election. Pundits were quick to note the irony of a massive superstorm striking after three presidential debates that didn't mention climate change once.

What is hard to understand is that there is scientific proof, plenty of it.
The right wing GOP is very christian and follows creationism. But evolution exists here and now from the time of creation that the human beings living on this planet are decaying it.

Addressing climate change is unnecessary. When he was nominated by the democrat party, then Senator Obama told us that people would say that "this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal." Wait just a minute here... is CNN saying that those things didn't happen?!?!?

Climate change is both an economic and environmental issue since the elimination of fossil fuels will create vast opportunities for NEW money to enter the economy vs. old oil baron money. Basically we must transition from an oil based economy to a tech based economy based upon solutions, innovations and a rejection of paradigms. While clean air is an objective, replacing over 500 million gas burning CO2 emitting relics will be an economic boon!!! Therefore roll out the hydrogen fueling stations and fuel cell vehicles and let's try to regain our Arctic Icecap!!!

Great idea! Let's work on "climate change" by increasing the number of debilitating EPA regulations and on Obamacare for the next two years. The economy can wait! Four more years of waste.

If Hurricane Sandy didn't convince the Republicans that Al Gore knew what he was talking about, I don't know what will.

There are some (mostly on the GOP side) that doubt that we humans do enough to affect anything on the planet. They have to wake up and smell the coffee while we can still make it. People need to think of it this way: when you add more and more of something to a system, it will change. Adding a touch of something can cause a significant different. If you add less than 1% of most poisons to a large glass of a beverage, it will still kill you. That is what we are doing with increases of CO2, methane and other green house gases.

To people who think like Jasoner, you are so limited in your thinking. Let businesses rise up that know how to control businesses pollutions; a new kind of consultant.

I would like to thank (four and the door, truth hurts, myviewis, and other haters) If it wasn't for your daily vitriolic posts, PRESIDENT OBAMA would not have been re-elected! I hope that this is the END of the Republican Party as WE know it!

Another embittered rightie. Has it occurred to you that, by keeping our economy perpetually dependent on a 19th-century technolgy that refines a mineral slime, we are not moving our economy forward? By the way, what debilitating regs are you referring to, the ones that keep outdated coal plants afloat while we ignore other possibilites? Do you like having a power grid that is outdated and obsolete? I guess so, but hey, as long as the Koch Brothers keep making billions and foul our environment, thats ok, right?

Climate change is a hoax. GOD controls the weather. I expect more storms the end times are near.

But Obama was going to stem the rising tides??? Another broken promises?

Enough climate change BS. The country has real problems it needs to address. Will Obama and his Demodroids try to play the Cap & Trade card again? Oh I'm sure they will.

It's funny how this originally started with Gore and Bush brought in actors dressed as scientists to debunk his climate change theory, remember that republicans!!It won't work if only the United States is involved because China,India and other countries are the real quilty parties here not us...Remember the Chinese Olympics and how their government had to pull half a million cars off the road to bring the air pollution down to livable levels for the running events and how most of their citizens wear face masks for breathing ,nice ha!!It'll take over a hundred years if were to start tommorrow and that's scientific fact so there's no quick fix for something as complex as this so if we started tommorrow maybe your grand kids will breath easier that's all!!

  12. The REAL Truth...

The right wing is denying climate change like they have always denied FACTS and TRUTH when presented with it. They have a smart answer for anything they don't like, such as Obama's birth cert, he's a Muslim, he's leading us down the path to socialism and that ignorant Obama 2016 movie.
FACT: – climate change IS HAPPENING.

There is (as stated above by cali girl) PLENTY of scientific proof. The right buries their heads in the sand saying no, no ,no... not happening!! Just like their losses last night. Whether we have a direct cause on the progress IS debatable, but it IS happening. Why is it that the right thinks we should continue burning fossil fuels and not focus on renewables???
Talk about leaving a legacy for our children.

It is great President Obama will preside for four more years :))) viva President Obama, ra ra ra. He is intelligent and realizes it is urgent to solve earth warming 🙂
Would the conservatives ever admit the dangers in letting the NPole hole trouble continue would be very self-destructive and foolish? Or are they profiting from the carbon monoxide pollution that old cars produce? even cars bush jr. peddled are still being sold and used to drivers by conservative companies owners. 🙁
Luckily, the natural clean gas and cars President Obama helped produce are a reality 🙂

  14. Data Driven

Obama has already mandated higher fuel efficiency for vehicles, so that's a start. An all-hybrid fleet by 2020 would go further, and aggressive government support for alternative energy is the most necessary piece. We'll spend less money on fossil fuels if we use less of them, and the job market in the green-sector will expand. Hop to it!
