(CNN) – An outspoken Republican moderate, Meghan McCain took to Twitter to express frustration with her party following a less-than-stellar night for the GOP.
"I don't need to do any soul searching about what the GOP is doing wrong, I knew what was wrong four years ago when my father lost. #evolve," she wrote on Twitter Wednesday morning after Republican nominee Mitt Romney was projected to lose the election to President Barack Obama Tuesday night and Congress would remain with Republicans controlling the House and Democrats the Senate.

McCain, a writer and daughter to former presidential candidate Sen. John McCain tweeted again, "Keep calling people like me RINO's and see how many elections we keep winning."
A "RINO" or "Republican in name only" is a term used within the political sphere to describe a self-identifying member of the Republican Party who does not conform to a certain mold of a conservative Republican.
McCain pushed back on the apparent name-calling Wednesday morning suggesting the Republican Party needs to, as she tweeted, "evolve" on a number of issues to keep up with an increasingly diverse American electorate where Democrats appear to have an advantage.
McCain's reaction on Twitter is part of a growing narrative woven from the Republicans losses in Tuesday's election and joins a chorus of Republican voices calling for change within the party.
But, win or lose, McCain got a little back-up from her mother on the social media site.
"Good job Meghan!!! RT @McCainBlogette: Keep calling people like me RINO's and see how many elections we keep winning," tweeted Cindy McCain, wife to Sen. McCain and Meghan's mother.
BTW, we seem to be missing a few folks today. The missing links include Ancient Texan, Four and the Door, Truth Hurts, and all the other usual suspects who were so sure of a Romney victory. Where are you guys? In the bunker getting drunk with George W?
My point exactly. The party keeps saying if they don't agree with someone we don't want you anyway. That is a sure way to lose every election.
Also considering how biased the media is Republicans should be watchful of what they say at all times. One bad gaffe is enough to lose compared to numerous gaffes by Dems that go unnoticed.
You think?
Meghan McCain seems to be a good, logical person. I also admire her father, especially in the days before his party forced him to pick an idiot as a running mate in 2008.
The GOP moderates must fight back against the worthless, talk-radio lemmings who currently dominate the debate. On another front, President Obama must also be less beholden to the most biased, extreme elements within his own party, like Nancy Pelosi and Barney Frank.
Therefore, America hopes that Obama will move to the center, and that the congressional GOP will prove that its more loyal to the economic well-being of the United States than it is to that blubbering moron Grover Norquist.
Meghan McCain is SO hott
If the GOP had more Meghan McCains and fewer Michele Bachmanns, they'd be in far better shape. Not to mention the fact that Meghan is a lot easier on the eyes than, say, Newt Gingrich:) A moderate Republican like former Minnesota governor Arne Carlson would make a great president, but sadly, today's GOP would spit him out faster than bad coffee at a tea party. Instead, we're stuck with crazy districts that keep putting the Bachmanns of the world back in office. Sigh.
Republicans – WAKE UP!
Either get with the program, or us Independent/Libertarian voters will continue to leave you in the dust.
Rest of us to Meghan McCain: switch parties. Dems accept moderates. Obama's a moderate. Just because your old man is a Republican doesn't mean you have to be one. You clearly disagree with the GOPhers platform; why stick with them? Life's short.
She is correct. The GOP must evolve or disolve. Strict separation of church and state would be a strong start.
"Evolve" is right!......but that's too close to the word "Evolution" for the Republican party to adopt!
