Obama's re-election secures health care reform

New York (CNNMoney) - The battle over health care reform is over.

President Obama's re-election will neutralize efforts to overturn the Affordable Care Act, the health care reform law passed in 2010 and one of the signature policy changes of his first term.

Now let's see if we can get about the business of reducing health care cost. I want to see everybody in the boat trying to get this thing done. Government can't be in the business of fixing cost, but healthcare is not a true free market business. There are no alternatives and it's clear the health care industry has no motivation to correct itself.

Republicans are now scared because when this bill becomes active people will wonder why it took so long, you'll see republicans retreating in their agenda in overturn it when people in droves will praise the president in doing another thing positive for the populus of America..Republicans historicly have fought against anything that helps Americans,SocialSecurity,Medicare,Medicaid and civil rights..Republicans this election cycle trying to supress the vote and cutting education everything that can be done to make the dumming down of Americans,a stupid illiterate American is an easier American to convince politically because the republicans agendas were tailored that way..Republicans Joseph Goebbels type campaign obviously backfired and now people like Rove and others will have to answer to the Koch brothers,Adelsons and others on how come their investment monies didn't get better results and who's going to pay for the republicans incompetence is the question that will be asked about for years!!

By 2016, when millions of Americans will no longer be made financially insolvent by getting medical care, the GOPhers will only be able to bleat about "reforming" Obamacare. "Replacing" or "repealing" the increasingly popular program will be off the table.

    See you in 2016, losers.

Bell, if your employer drops his medical coverage for his employees in order to simply off load coverage to the government, then those costs should be offset somewhat if it in fact put on the employees, this is something the federal government will have to be paying attention to, their could be thousands of employers be planning to do this and if that happens penalties should be imposed against their companies.

Buyers remorse will set in when the 20+ new taxes kick in and people discover that the quality of health care drops significantly, and even more when a faceless panel somewhere determines that it is not worth spending money on a procedure for you as you either are not productive enough or don't have enough useful life left. I've taken the time to read the entire thing and its all there. We will see a very significant shortage of doctors now for numbers of patience, and fewer people will choose that career as well. After all, why bother if you cannot make the money back to pay for your schooling.

  13. GOP = Greed Over People!

Unless you live in GA where Deal has said he is not extending Medicaid.

Of course, he may not have thought this thing out, and when the citizens of GA see their federal tax dollars going to provide health care to other states, they may come to resent why we do not have ACA.

    But then it is GA...

    @ Pete

When the President give amnesty to 27 million illegals and in the process provide them with instant government health care, we will all be running. Elections have consequences. We had our election, now come the consequences.

Spoiler ALERT: we are going to have a recession. Europe will start the process and because we will be economically weak, the United States will not be able to hold it off. So when this happens, those that voted for this man need only look in the mirror to find the people responsible for this event. The wealthy will become less wealthy, but a large piece of the middle class will become poor, and the poor will become destitute. But hey, we re-elected an African American President, aren't we so progressive and smart.

Not many things in life are for certain. But one thing that is, is that when insurance companies spend big bucks to try to kill a piece of means that piece of legislation is good for us.

I will save our company of 100+ employees 375k a year by taking the penalty. You can guess what we will be doing.

It's sad to see a major political party go through its' death throes as it dies from cancer caused by over-consumption of extremism.

Is that what Fox News told you? The same source that said this would be a Romney landslide right? There's a reason why Obama won the educated vote, and Romney had supporters like you.

Wilson – the 'death panel' is now the 'faceless panel'? Really?
BTW, what's the difference with this 'faceless panel' and the ones already in place, you know the one that companies have to tell them to to say 'We are not going to pay for it' to the guys that always paid their premiums when they finally need it (the healthcare that they were supposed to get through the premiums)?
Get a grip, accept that the 'studies' (otr whatever you call them) that INDEPENDENT sources have done about the ACA are right and that the whole deal is going to SAVE MONEY...
..Or keep ranting all those debunked lies that you like so much...

If nothing else this is the reason that Obama needed to be re-elected. Insurance money, phamaceutical companies and others that profit off of the pain and suffering of the uninsured tried ev eything to get Obama defeated. Instead he won a resounding victory. Now Obamacare, as it is popularly known, will becomefully implemented. That means that people will finally be able to get insurance if they have diabetes or any other preexisting condition without getting an insurance quote that would cause Romney to tremble in fear for his fortune

Go ahead and operate like Obama has no mandate to govern despite beating back four years of obstruction, ideological tantrums, farsical legislative shenanigans, filibusters, secret holds, manufactured crises, personal attacks, fabrications, blatant misinformation campaigns, infantile demagoguery, bigotry, racism, sexism, religio-fascist divisiveness, self-centered bad faith refusal to govern and attempts to usurp the power of the PEOPLE, their votes, their rights, their hopes, their wealth, etc. Heck, CNN began selling the "Obama has no mandate to govern" malarkey instantly after calling the race for him last night, so you've already got a leg up from the "liberal MSM" that's been helping you sell your crap with false equivalency he-said-she-said "journalism" for the past 4 years. Do it. Buy into that manufactured false equivalency narrative of "no mandate" and "Obama has to move towards the GOP, while the GOP can jsut keep on doing what they're doing." Do that. Believe your own BS. Listen to naught but the echoes ringing in your closed ideological hivemind. Double down on all of it with the MSM's help. WE DARE YOU.

WE OVERCAME. And, make no mistake, we SHALL do it again. You have a choice: accept the olive branch and the concessions that go with it, or simply be beaten with it.

"Fooled Again" must be looking into the mirror. Must not want to lose their freebies to someone else. It is sad. U.S. Government is 'of the people, by the people, for the people" why shouldn't government money raised by taxes be spent on the people of the nation. Despite what the courts have said, Corporations are not the PEOPLE and are not owed all the charity they are getting from the government.
