FIRST ON CNN: Obama to make statement on economy Friday
(CNN) - Three days after being re-elected, President Barack Obama will deliver a statement on the economy Friday, two administration officials said Thursday.
The 1:05 p.m. ET statement in the East Room will serve as an opportunity to address some of the big issues that Washington will tackle in the next few months - including staving off the so-called fiscal cliff - and to outline his priorities moving forward.
An official schedule released by the White House Thursday said the statement would address "the action we need to take to keep our economy growing and reduce our deficit."

We need a different financial system where money is not created by private banks. Nothing will change unless we change system, tell the truth, and be courageous. You can't cut spending without hurting millions of people. A one billion dollar cut is equivalent to losing 20,000 jobs that pay $50,000 a year. You cannot do anything without a consequence. The Republicans do not have a solution that is any better than the Democrats.
Excellent start!...make sessions with the house and senate totally transparent concerning the economy....televised, if we have house members that aren't willing to work for solution, let it be known...voters deserve to see who's helping or hindering the process...let us see who's throwing the rock and hiding their hand

he'll lay out some vague vision, then wait for a photo op after everyone else comes up with a solution. now that he doesn't have to face the voters again maybe he'll be more flexible.

This is the right approach judging from the voice of Americans inspite of the fact that it was a minus but still prefer him. I wish America the best in solving this grave economic issue.
A lot of victims from hurricane Sandy are still waiting for help.....600,000 still have no electric, no gas to go places, and no work........How come FEMA closed its Offices Tuesday for Election day and again Wednesday for the Nor'easter..., Your people who elected you need answers....

I cannot believe that Obama is going to speak about "growing the economy" or "reducing the deficit." Is his 1:05 statement going to air on the Fiction Channel?
The action we needed to take was to elect someone else.
Do those actions include resigning and letting someone else with more fiscal responsibility take over?

Why listen? Obama is a chronic liar. I don't believe a damn thing the man says. It's time to stop talking the talk and start walking the walk.
