Washington (CNN) - President Barack Obama will travel to Myanmar, where he will meet with President Thein Sein and activist Aung San Suu Kyi, on a trip to Asia later this month, the White House said Thursday.
Obama will stop in Myanmar, also known as Burma, during a November 17-20 trip to "speak to civil society to encourage Burma's ongoing democratic transition," according to a news release.

vacation time!!!! cough up yet again american taxpayer.
Yes, Myanmar, that burning hot spot of international crisis. They must have a new resort that needs somebody to cut the ribbon. Oh well, I guess it has been a few months since Obama's last vacation. Wouldnt want to strain a muscle trying to fix that fiscal cliff stuff.
The purse strings belong to congress, it is in all honesty THEIR JOB to figure that out.
Sore losers eh?
Time to fire up Air Force One again and go globe trotting. Just too darn boring sitting in the Oval Office working on really important matters. Michelle going, too? But wait, she's busy planning her own trips, which I'm sure will be non-stop from now on. So who's surprised?
@just sayin – vacation time!!!! cough up yet again american taxpayer.

come on admit it. obama has no real interest in actually working at solving the problems the country faces. he just likes to talk about them in between vacations.

Go ahead babe crow on!!!
I don't miss them, but I'm not beyond gloating about the complete, irrevocable, paralyzing, mind-numbing, butt whipping that WE delivered the Rethugs on behalf of our hard-working and well-deserving President.
We told you we had your back Barack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He is probably going over there to apologize and to relinquish the Nobel Peace Prize, he was fraudulently given in 2009, to its rightful owner. If Obama had an ounce of integrity, he would do that.

Nice try!! 63 trips halfway across the country does not equate to working from home. If it's away from the "dc quamire" why is Myanmar any different.. only further??
Obama has been working the problems of this country since day 1. Problem is the Grand Obstructionist People did everything in their power to block it. His re-election indicates that the American people say thro all the bluster and blander from the right during the election, up to and including the ridiculous amount of money spent trying to oust him. The American people have spoken. Get over it!
Hi cali girl – I've been posting my opinions, where were you???? You are correct, we'll have to get over it and keep going and not worry anymore what happens to our country. I hope the President enjoys his time away while everyone else is worrying about the Fiscal Cliff.
Listen to the sore losers!!! Get over it, the American people spoke loudly and reelected our POTUS. This coming from the party that nominated the spoiled bully, WHO HASN'T HAD A JOB IN OVER 6 YEARS!
Too hilarious!!!
Looks like it's not Mittens and Missy Ann's turn........
Well the haters are returning and this is exactly why you lost the Presidential Election, Senate and Congressional Seats. Mainstream America has simply had enough of the hate you display for other Americans. The people have spoken get over it and stop wallowing in hate.
myopic view – Thank God Fox did not fire you. Glad you are back.
the silent majority have spoken. and i mean majority
