(CNN) - In an email sent to reporters on Sunday night, a White House official laid out President Obama’s meeting schedule for the week culminating in the first round of negotiations with Congressional leaders on how to avoid the impending fiscal cliff at the White House on Friday.
The president will be meeting with leaders from both parties at the end of the week, including Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, House Speaker John Boehner and Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.

That's what I'm talking about Mr. President. Come out of the gate swinging and show the market that we're not playing around with our fiscal woes. It's great that the POTUS is meeting with all parties involved so he can get a clear concensus on what needs to be done. Everyone has to have skin in the game.
FORWARD!!!
The President had better check with The Lord (James 1: 5) "The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew Himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward Him (2nd Chronicles 16: 9). His Children are very
imperfect (smile).
The union thugs will continue to get their say and they have sure paid enough for it. I have no confidence in Obama and evidently the stock market does not either.
Union leaders thought you had them on your payroll or is it the other way around can't remember.
I hope that all parties involved had the good manners and common courtesy to accept his invitation.
The President is not being brash and bragadocious about the incredible butt whipping he bestowed on Romney and his Party by extension. There wil be no fist waving tape of him gloating about his "political capital" and how he'll spend it "becasue that's the way [he] is" a ala George Dubya; but make no mistake there IS a new sheriff in town. And that sheriff doesn't have to EVEN THINK about HIS re-election, whereas Boo-Hoo and his Obstructionists do.
Watch out now!
People spoke. GOP lost like a crazy dog. Daunting humiliating to GOP. Better behave or pack your stuff go to Canada or India or Germany. We will help.

I guess you haven't seen the closing numbers yet today. Give the markets a chance to think it over; they'll come around. What is good for the unions is good for America.

Just look at the writing style and it's clear. He's back and nuttier than ever.

If it is in fact him then he must've added drinking the moonshine to smoking the Tea to his diet.
Have you noticed my friend how WE (Independents, liberals, progressives, dems) DON'T go around these sites posting under different names.
I guess unlike them we're proud of who we are, what we stand for and whom we support.
The unions have every right to meet with the President. They supported much of his platform in 2008, and likewise in 2012. It will be good to have them come to the table and sit across business leaders and have a dialogue on how to speed up the FORWARD movement of our nation vis-a-vis the job part of the economic equation.
It is my firm belief that Romney and his gang have purposely clogged up and constipated the economy by aksing big business to hold off on hiring while raking in record profits under President Obama.
That's MY gut check.
FORWARD America.
Don't be so anti-union people, especially the uneducated republican ones.Pres.Obama knows where his ground game came from the unions and volunteers, not paid campaign workers Romney employed.Unions if you don't know by now actually own Wall Street with their union pension portfolios that are a huge majority of investment money contributed well back over 100 years.Mine alone over 35 years and still going strong..And Pres.Obama is getting heads together to see what's really needed to help America back on its feet faster from not only union leaders but business leaders as well, any info is info well used,so quit being so negetive when the president has your best interests at heart,he is the peoples president isn't he!!!
It is time for the GOP to put away childish things, including their childish obstruction, their childish whining, their childish defiance, their childish lies, their childish greediness, and their childish unwillingness to share their toys with others. President Obama's school is now in session.
Great idea. A meeting of the minds to come up with some new free stuff you can give me and my friends!! I love this idea!!
Lets get'er done. Loser walks. The country spoke by voting against Repubs. We are waiting. But, NFL. Not For Long.
oreilly and limbaugh still blamin Hispanics and abortion...still clueless!

Obama to reach out to union, business leaders on fiscal cliff-Thats a Crock. Obama's way is "My way or the Highway"–There is no reaching out in his vocabulary–
@Al & Ed1
Maybe this would be a good time to become patriots rather than the right-wing bigots America rejected. Give the President your sincere support rather than repeating sound bites from Fox News.
Obama wants to TAKE from one group and GIVE to the other. He owes the unions big time for the $400 million and all the work they did to re-elect him.
Mitch M and Boehner listen to America. Work with our President and work for America. That's what the people want. No more grandstanding. Thank you.
Mitch and Boehner gather your followers and lead them to listen and answer the clarion call of the people. Of what use is dogged ideology if it is not functional for the people.? Have them listen, act and do America's job not theirs. GOD BLESS AMERICA, THE LAND OF THE BRAVE.
How bout they do something this time!!
I have witnessed a ridiculous circus like election campaign full of uncivil behavior , pettiness and rudeness.
Obscene amounts of money have been spent by the candidates while so many people are unemployed and even on food stamps. Unbelievable!!!!!!!
Obama was re-elected , so why are Democrats still so full of hateful vitriol , can't you just widen your horizon a bit and agree to disagree with other peoples view in a civil manner.
We don't have to pack. We'll just create our own country right where we stand right now & the rest of you who don't join can learn the real meaning of oppression. If you like to be restricted, you voted for the right man...guess you can't make a go of it yourself without someone telling you your next move...I wish you luck in your "Utopia" where humanity & freedom will truly take a back seat to your USA's socialist agenda.
Know it or not, President Obama now has the upper hand in this financial crisis. As he said, they don't want to negotiate, the tax rates will expire at the end of the year and everyone's taxes will go up.Not just the middle class, but the rich also. Mr.Boehner, The House of Representatives and Mitch McConnell will not let that happen because the rich will feel let down by that action. Sure, they will negotiate, concede,do whatever they have to to impress the rich. They have no other choice. As Bush put it on his 2nd term "He had political cash" and would use it. Go for it Obama. Rah,rah!
