(CNN) - After more than three decades in politics, George Allen says he's done.
"I have no intention of running for office again," Virginia's former governor and U.S. senator said in interviews with the Richmond Times-Dispatch, the Virginian-Pilot, and the News Virginian.

In the interviews Monday, less than a week after he lost his bid to reclaim his Senate seat, Allen added that he and his wife Susan "put our heart and soul into this campaign."
The former state lawmaker and U.S. congressman won Virginia's gubernatorial office in 1993 and was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2000. But he lost a razor thin re-election bid in 2006 to Democrat Jim Webb, who retired this year rather than run for a second term. This cycle Allen faced off in a high profile and expensive Senate race against former Gov. Tim Kaine. Allen lost to Kaine by six points in last week's election.
"I was disappointed to learn that George Allen will not seek political office again. I've had the honor of knowing George for two decades now. He is a great friend. And I sincerely hope, as George exits from political life, that all Virginians will remember the incredible service he has given to our Commonwealth," said Virginia's current governor, Bob McDonnell, in a statement Tuesday.

What will America do w/out such a MAN.
It wasn't that long ago that he was considered "presidential" material.......gosh, just because you humiliate one little "macaca" with a camera........next thing you know your political career is toast. Good riddence!
And I sincerely hope, as George exits from political life, that all Virginians will remember the incredible service he has given to our Commonwealth

Good riddance macaca! Stay out of politics. BTW Gov. Ultrasound, at least he was a better governor than YOU! Just as Mark Warner and Tim Kaine were. Don't you even think about seeking any office higher than the one you hold now. It ain't happening.
Buh bye Macaca man.
It's like VA was constipated and finally got it out.
Just more proof that what you say and do follows you and to think this man, his father and brothers are involved in football going around calling people Macacas, he's an idiot.
OLD WHITE MALE are finally getting the message: they are IRRELEVANT!!!!!!
Good, bye chico!
Where is CLINT EASTWOOD?!!!
I would love to see him talk to that EMPTY CHAIR & LOSER: MITT ROBME!!!!
What a blessing. This clown could never win another election anyway. Anybody who talks about "shoving Democrats soft teeth down their whiney throats" has no place in public office.
Dear George – We're just not that into you. Signed, Everybody.
George Allen was a wretched governor, a right-wing hack as a senator and representative. He was an unprincipled, avaricious private citizen-lobbyist while out of office. Thank goodness Virginians have sent him out of political life. Back to lobbyist-land, George! I'm certain you can make millions more corrupting the system for your energy company swine.
Buhbye! Good! And take your garbage with you! We'll finish cleaning house in 2014 when we sweep out the rest of the trash!!
Get rid of McConnell next.
He'll have to go back to his old job of chasing macaca.
Yay! I lived outside D.C. when he was the coach of the Washington Redskins and didn't like him back then, either.
Toast.
To counter all of these negative comments about him, I going to post something positive about George. But I can't think of anything.
good news for Virginia...good news for the US...good news for humanity...and, last but not least. good news for Macacas everywhere!
