Buffett hopes for a Clinton White House in 2016

(CNN) – Billionaire investor Warren Buffett said he hopes Hillary Clinton will become the first female president of the United States in 2016.

"I don't see how you could have anybody better qualified," Buffett told CNN's Poppy Harlow in an exclusive interview Wednesday about the current Secretary of State and 2008 White House hopeful.

"I like what she believes in," said Buffett. "I think she's extraordinarily able and energetic for that matter in pushing those beliefs."

Buffett not worried about fiscal cliff

Buffett, a Democrat and the namesake for the bill known as the "Buffett Rule" that would require people earning $1 million a year or more to pay at least 30% in taxes, supported both President Barack Obama and Clinton as presidential candidates in four years ago. He held fund-raisers and donated money to each of the candidates' campaigns.

The bill, which failed to pass the Senate in April, was intended to prevent the wealthy from paying a lower actual tax rate than most middle class workers, a proposal Buffett, Obama and a number of Democrats have endorsed.

Clinton is finishing her term in the Obama administration and has said she will not run for the president in the next election insisting she is finished with politics for good.

–CNN's Dana Davidsen contributed to this report.

This is so wrong...if it is Obama who drives us in the the ditch of economic despair, it will be another Clinton who buries us until we suffocate.

"If Hillary runs in 2016 the Republicans will counter with Sarah Palin. LMAO! Yeah right. Clinton would make Palin look like the fool she is."

Correction Ambrose, Palin would and does make Palin look like the fool she is....she's a self made fool

As a progressive Republican, I like Hillary Clinton as a person even I do not always agree with her. I think she will be a good president in some ways. 🙂 I don't really care about all the hatred I'm going to get from both sides for this comment. Go on haters, hate all you want and let that anger build up inside you. Eventually, it will kill you 😀

@Mark, LOL George W ruined that name for good. Not even the republicans wanted to claim Bush during the election with Romney. They and the public distanced theirselfs from that name for good!!!! Hillary for 2016!!!!!!!!!!

Great idea , as long as she plays hard ball with banks and predatory lenders .

Thats one thing Obama didn't deal with more aggressively. And now there doing the same thing all over again , The same corporations that sold bad loans are now buying foreclosed or underwater homes at such low rates it's criminal.
Homeowners could not use the bankruptcy law , the lenders did . They just changed there name and started a new LLC.
    Who say's crime doesn't pay !

And Carl Rove will declare Jeb Bush the landslide winner by Thanksgiving 2012? Starting the 2016 Presidential race a week after the 2012 election is simply insane. Guys, find something else to cover for another couple of years.

In 2016 the republicans will run a Jeb Bush/Marco Rubio ticket. The democrats need Hillary and a hispanic male from one of the western states as her VP.

Buffet is showing his age ... getting soft in the brain..Hillary has had her day in the sun...time to retire from the public scene and spend loving time with her faithful husband, Bill....

Buffett is a wise man. A lot wiser than all of Romney's odd financiers combined....and a lot richer too. I love Hillary Clinton but let's relax a bit and not rush toward 2016 so fast as time goes so quickly anyway.

Hillary for 2016,she can not even tell the truth about Benghazi ,so she is a liar before she even runs for being president....why she is perfect for the job,all she needs is Monica Lewinsky on her cabinet ,her husband beside her and away we go!

You have got to be kidding! The woman is already a hag – a literal hag. Can you imagine what she will look like in four more years! It's positively scary! Let her run, though. All the Republicans would need do is run a nice, handsome, well-spoken young guy, and they would bury her.

I laughed I read that age never stopped Reagan, Dole, or McCain (well, 1 out of three maybe! Dole and McCain got their heads handed to them).

I just lost respect for Buffet. His quote ""I don't see how you could have anybody better qualified"....what on earth are Hillary's qualifications to be President? A two bit lawyer involved in scandals...a meddling first lady...a one term Senator with no record of any accomplishment...a totally invisible Secretary of State.

If there is nobody better qualified, god help us all.

i think Hillary is sickened by politics and the necessary evils all candidates have to do and act to get votes. i really believe she's sincere in not wanting to run and get away from politics for good.
