Congressional intelligence committees briefed on Benghazi attacks

Washington (CNN) - Lawmakers on congressional intelligence committees got a detailed account Thursday of what happened during an attack on a U.S. diplomatic compound in Libya that left four Americans, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens, dead.

In closed-door sessions, lawmakers saw video recovered from the compound as part of their most comprehensive account, to date, of what happened on the ground in Benghazi on September 11, a senior intelligence official told CNN. They also heard an explanation as to what U.S. officials were doing behind the scenes to respond, the official said, adding that the presentation would clarify some mischaracterizations about the nature of the attack.

so it look slike eric holder made the decision to withold the investgation from obama and legislators, including overseeing committees. he needs to be fired immediately. that decision is not within his pay grade and not his to make. holders incompetence is simply stunning in its magnitude.

since mccaine doesn't have to tell anyone where he is because he is a senator maybe the president can use the same line. Republicans acting like a bunch of imature children and it is wearing thin. They need to grow up and get on with business or resign. How long must we put up with their childish behavior.??? They are really an obnoctious lot.

    Historical masterpiece from :
Rep. Gary Ackerman (D-NY) unloaded, first sarcastically: "Let's just hang the guilty parties."

"The stench of hypocrisy that hangs over this city today emanates from this room," Ackerman said. "I've listened to my colleagues talk about the President of the United States and others in the administration using [the] terms 'deliberate', 'lies', 'unmitigated gall', 'malfeasance,' which is malicious and knowing evil-doing, 'disgust', 'coverups'."

He continued, "If you want to know who is responsible in this town, buy yourself a mirror!"

Ackerman went on to say that Republicans had "the audacity to come here" when the administration requested, for worldwide security, "$440 million more than you guys wanted to provide. And the answer is that you damn didn't provide it! You REDUCED what the administration asked for to protect these people. Ask not who the guilty party is, it's you! It is us. It is this committee, and the things that we insist that we need have to cost money."

He added, "Could you tell me which of my colleagues on this committee was as bodacious in their insistence that we provide more money for American security in the State Department budget. I would appreciate it."

Ackerman then asked them to raise their hands and gave them a count of five to do so. None did.

    Article states:
And on Thursday, Attorney General Eric Holder said the White House and lawmakers were not alerted about FBI probes into Petraeus' affair because it was determined that there was no national security threat.

lazy liberal buffoons don't even bother reading the article before posting their insanity.

Rep Ackerman was a blast of fresh air in a room full of stench. About time we call these republican asses out. Everytime they make untrue or offensive statements about the president or anyone that is meaqn and untrue congress should call them out. They have done nothing but lie for the last four years. Tired of listening to them. They are an unpatriotic disgrace.

Repubs have no integrity or honesty left, only fear and hate, and the only good thing about the current GOP is that they are not reproducing and soon will be extinct. Everything needs a balance, "a ying for a yang" – but there's no balance to "extreme whacko".

"Our number one priority is to spend all our time manufacturing a thin justification for impeaching this president."

McCain wanted Secretary of State/Defense job in 2008, he doesn't care what happened in Benghazi if he did he would have attended the meeting he requested but instead chose to make a TV appearance. McCain is a sick man consumed with anger for Obama.
