(CNN) - Jeb Bush, Jr., the son of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, said Tuesday morning he "certainly" wants his dad to run for president.
Asked on CNN's "Starting Point with Soledad O'Brien" if he wants to see his father make a White House bid, Bush said, "I don't know. No comment. I certainly hope so."
"Giving you the full loaf of bread right there," he continued, smiling.

Jeb Bush, the former governor, flirted with a presidential bid last year, but declined to run. With high popularity in the Hispanic community–his wife is from Mexico and he speaks Spanish–his name has resurfaced as a strong contender in 2016, now that many in the party say the GOP needs to better connect with Latinos.
"We really have to work on our ground game, have to work on our messaging," Jeb Bush, Jr. said Tuesday.
He pointed to his uncle, former President George W. Bush, as an example of someone who "showed that you can be successful with Hispanics and be Republican."
"He showed up in Hispanic communities. He spoke a little Spanish," he continued. "I think that candidness really came across well. (Sen. John) McCain and Gov. Romney didn't do a good job, but I think in 2016 we'll hopefully have a candidate that certainly focuses on that."
He also weighed in on Sen. Marco Rubio's controversial comments about the age of the earth, which Rubio argued was one of "the great mysteries" on Monday.
"It was a strange question and I guess kind of a head-scratching type of answer," he said. "We've got to be a pro-science and pro-technology party. I think Marco Rubio is just that. But we also can't forget about our traditional values."
Rubio has repeatedly said he considers Jeb Bush, Sr., to be his close friend and mentor.
Meanwhile, Jeb Bush, Jr.'s brother, George P. Bush, has taken steps to run for a statewide office in Texas.
Lord in Heavens ...this family again ????????????
Right, another Bush. I would vote for almost any one else if a Bush were to run. The Bushes, like the Romneys, feel they are entitled to what they want. I still remember George H W Bush referring to Jeb's children as 'the little brown ones'. I feel that reflects the entire family's viewpoint on other cultures – Jeb's wife was not from the indio-mexican culture but the Spanish-german one. The Bushes protected Neil from his part in the bank scams in the 1980s and 1990's. I always wonder what the 2000 outcome would have been if Jeb had not been governor of Floriday.
just sayin
don't bother running. let the democrats fix the disaster they have made. only when the country reaches total rock bottom with a major depression will they be ready to reject the leftist garbage the democrat party has become.
***************************************************************
Then pack a long lunch, because we fix the depressions that the GOP creates with their objectivist nonsense, and it will be a cold day in hell before the GOP will ever be trusted with leading this country. Worthless group of hypocritical flat-earthers.....
Scary thought! Unfortunately there are a lot of Americans who still think GWB was a great president, that Palin is smart, and all sorts of cookey things, so those morons may make it happen. The party for dinosaurs have not gone extinct yet.
PfftBwahhahaahaha.... not even Americans are THIS stupid!
Besides, GOP is dead, non-existent until they fix their attitudes about women, military, world-bullying, bi-partisanship, lack of compromise, abortion, healthcare, Wall Street, the middle class...the list goes on and on. Angry Old White Men will not cut it for America's future generations. New political parties will rise, but the GOP is snuffed out and GONE, people! Hallelujah!
One could really asses the tolerance of the Liberals...They can accuse someone like a Cretan and support a sup-planter as if he is the saint.
Yeah exactly who I want running the country telling my family what to do with a sick family member. Terri Sciavo anyone???
LOL you.... want to connect with Latinos.... with another..... Bush? Good luck with that.
LOL yeah no.
OMG ! Please NOT another BUSH ! The Bush people need to stay in the TEXAS BUSH ! LOL....All the Bush people ? Give it up, you people will never be trusted to run this country ever again.
"It's like deja-vu all over again." Yogi Berra
Well... even though I both BUSH presidents were a disaster to USA and I am an Obama supporter this time, I cannot say that I don't like Jeb Bush.
I say, we can let him run for president and see what he has to put on the table for us. He is his own person and you cannot compare him to G. H. W. or G. W. Bush. There is one saying which is vary famous to all... "You can't choose your relavites".
I am neither Rep. nor a Dem., so we can give him a chance to run. BUT, if he does put out the same ideas as republicans did in the recent years, I will definitely NOT vote for him.
phil
People who would judge Jeb Bush based on GW just show how ignorant they are. If a country doesn't vote based off of principle and only votes based off of false judgement and assumptions then we are in trouble. Jeb Bush is his own man, own character, with his own principles & politics. Grow up people and judge him as the man he is and not who he is related to!
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I judge him based on his eight years as governor. He left Florida in shambles, and would be an unmitigated disaster on a national scale.
Go for it, Jeb Bush! America will only benefit if the GOP loses again in 2016.!
Sorry Jeb Jr., your uncle poisoned the well for your family. Your name is toast in political circles. Also, your comment on "We also can't forget our traditional values" – since when is ignorance a traditional value in the Republican Party? That sound you hear is Ronald Reagan weeping.
Dubya made the – name – a four letter word, and we don’t need any more Bush family members in positions of responsibility!
if another person with the name of Bush ever runs, and I mean Ever runs again – I will Vote for whom Ever is on the Other Side. As a matter of fact, if we get another "bush" in the white house as our C I C – I will move to Canada. 2 loser "Bushes" is 2 two many ! At least # 41 was 1/2 way intellegent – at least he went to the air with his war – compared to the "dumbest" one Ever – when he went to the ground – and we're still not completely OUT – we have to their "police" forever.

Please no more wars...please no more of the Bush clan.
It will never happen... The left wing main stream liberal media has so villanized GWB, that any other Bush doesn't stand a chance. Just like this election, any Republican candidate will have to run against not only his/her Democratic opponent, but the lame-stream media as well. For some reason, lame-stream media cannot and will not support any candidate for any office who does not belong to the Democratic party.
He would have called a special session of congress to keep Terry Shiavo alive. This man is not a moderate Republican!!
Who cares what anyone in the Bush family thinks? They got us into this huge mess, won't take responsibility for it and didn't try to get us out of it. No Bush should EVER be allowed in public office again.
Have Palin run. Bush for VP. He'll b forever known as Palin's BUSH
Bush hate runs deep, even here in Texas. Running another Bush is a recipe for total disaster, personaly I want a two party system but running another Bush will destroy what little the GOP has left. To all you folks out there in reader land don't think that Texans all love Bush and by the way we are not all rich iether...fyi.
President Obama has remove "FOREIGN POLICY" as a mythical topic of Republican superiority because he made the tough & proper calls on ending wars, popping Somali pirate, bin Laden and Al QuedaLs Top 100, and getting the Europeans to do some "heavy lifting" while settling America`s balance sheet with Kaddafhi.
Mr. Obama needs to do the same thing for the topic of `FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY". Let tax rates rise with the expiration of Bush`s work, Means test Social Security & Medicare, cut a defense program, eliminate tax loopholes [THEN lower rates, the following year]], take the income cap off for medicare taxes, refinance ALL US debt at low 30 rates, and stsrt showing a chart of annual deficits going back to Clinton surpluses [this should mirror the "jobs created" column chart]. If the President does those things, capital markets will be steady, the deficit will be cut, the conommy will grow and NO REPUBLICAN, including JEB BUSH will come near the Whitehouse for the next 12 YEARS.
