Official: Changes to Benghazi talking points made by intel community

Washington (CNN) - The intelligence community - not the White House, State Department or Justice Department - was responsible for the substantive changes made to the talking points distributed for government officials who spoke publicly about the attack on the U.S. mission in Benghazi, the spokesman for the director of national intelligence said Monday.

The unclassified talking points on Libya, developed several days after the the deadly attack on the U.S. mission in Benghazi, were not substantively changed by any agency outside of the intelligence community, according to the spokesman, Shawn Turner.

Benghazi, was the begining of what is now happening in the middle east. You can believe what yoant, or what they want you to believe, but it is very funny that Obama during the second debate, was so positive he stated matter of fact that " Benghazi was noted speciifically a terrorist attack," so did he know than that it was and turn around an stated days later it was the video. Susan Rich is a scapegoat for this administration, and her gift is to become Sect. of State.

The intel or the white house has to act responsibly considering matters for national security. McCain and his friends are only acting irresponsibly to their own benefits rather than the public good. At this stage and point McCain should resign to honor his service

This will NOT shut them up. They are a klan of sore losers that just can't fathom that they were whipped in back to back Presidential elections by a black man. When you have grown up thinking a certain way, it's hard to change, especially when you don't really want to.

With the things they say publicly about President Obama, I would love to be a fly on the wall, and hear the real words they use to describe him.

Hopefully now Congress can do some real work.

I'm curious to know why I didn't see this on Fox this morning though......

It's one thing to be opposed to someone with a different political view. It can lead to a healthy discussion on the issues.....Good for our country. What we have seen and heard and had crammed down our throats these last four years is a disgrace, vile and disgusting. It has no place in a system of governing....its place is in the sewer!!! The people that are knowingly engaging in this style of politics have no concerns for the betterment of our nation....only a concern for their loss of power and control. It scares their vision of their narrow little world and this leads them to say anything and feel justified!!!! That's what drives them to the extreme they feel justified and that allows them to do and say as they please!!!! SO DAMN SAD!

I highly doubt this will stop all the conservatives from whining about conspiracy theories. They just need something, ANYTHING, to distract people from the shambles their organization has become as of late.

Republicans criticizing Susan Rice for doing her job have lost their little piece of minds. Republicans just lost the general election in large part due to their various wars on variouis ethinic groups. Now here they go again down that dark corridor to that same room, in which they just love to paint themselves into the corner.

Attacking Rice puts three "men" on base because their attacking a young(1), black(2), woman(3). This comes right on the heels of losing an election because of their attacks on those groups, and others as well. I have a message for Senators McCain and Graham, both of whom seem to think their "expert" opinions are absolute truths.

"People who think they know everything are ignorant of everything else."

I realize that some people consider themselves staunch republicans, but in light of facts, why continue the "conspiracy" angle! What good can that possibly accomplish? This is not a situation where the UN went in, several times & declared the country free of WMD's & yet the administration forced a unilateral war! This situation was confusing due to the protest march going on during the attack! It was the perfect cover for a small faction of terrorists to go in, cause damage & get out before any1 was the wiser! In that kind of incidence, of course the intel was confusing! The measures put in place by the last administration has saved us from futher attacks on our own soil, but it wont stop it from happening elsewhere, such as our consulates in countries where there's already instability & unrest! We live in a volatile world, this kind of stuff has been & will continue to happen! This attack was used to discredit Obama during the election, for political gain! We shouldn't allow it to polarize us!!

Angry old white men afraid they have lost their power (which they have).

McSongbird needs to go - he's not part of ANY solution, but he is part of most of the problems. And he can take his southern boyfriends with him (Graham).

The President needs to call McCain in when he returns to the US for a meeting to shut his mouth one thing that is a no no is you do not criticize the President when he is on foreign soil and he has broken all protocol.

He is an angry old man and the rest are trying to denigrate the President because they lost the election what kind of country is this becoming.

The American people will speak and vote these people out McCain has no more duties so he needs to retire.

This does NOT answer the question. To blame a low intelligence analyst does not excuse the fact Rice and others told a lie. The unclassified talking points do NOT say the attack was about the video, yet that was what was relayed.

If you can't talk at the classified level then say"we don't know at this time".

Administration officials also should know the classified version, do you REALLY want us to believe administration officials only know what is given in the talking points and can't think for themselves?

More BS, what happened to the "buck stops here".

I believe the GOP will continue to dig and dig, telling them facts about Benghazi will not deter them from belittling this President, remember Clinton days.. i am just prepared to continue to pray for Obama's success and God to continue to guide him in every decision he takes knowing fully well he is only human bound to make mistakes. On the other hand if anyone tells me Mccain is this petty and egocentric i would have said NO..i came very close to voting for him in 2008.. now i say thank GOD.

almost certainly the political hack clapper changed the report to prevent political damage to obama. everybody knows he was the source of the intel leaks that were favorable to obama. he's the equivolant of the old soviet political commissar whose job was to protect the communist party. it is how you get a terrorist attack at ft. hood called workplace violence.

but again, 5 days after the attack everybody knew it was not the result of any demonstrators. rice went out there ad blatantly lied to protect obama during the election. they were counting on the lsm playing along and protecting them so they could ride it out. lies and smoke and mirrors are all that come out of the obama adminstration, the most deceitful, lawless, untransparent presidency in history.

Won't stop the GOP from demanding impeachment for Obama for ..... not thinking before he read the CIA statement. When are the GOP gonna go after Bush/Cheney for lying about WMDs or the 8 embassies attacked under his watch wherein 59 people died? The only think to be thankful for in all this is that the American people, barring a block headed minority, "get" what the GOP is doing and they are walking away it in droves. I say keep up the good work Boys, keep slogging thru the muck!!!

After Solyndra and Fast & Furious, and now Benghazi, have fallen thru dashing their impeachment hopes, I wonder where their next attack is coming from. Israel? Hammas? Gaza?

Does anyone REALLY think facts, the truth, or anything related to either, has any bearing on the righties?

They get their facts, and truth, Fair and Unbalanced, from their friendly propaganda network. All other sources are MainStream Media, and can't be trusted. They even have shows to tell all how biased the MSM is.
