Washington (CNN) - At one time, Susan Rice seemed to be on a trajectory that would take her to the secretary of state's office in President Barack Obama's second term.
But the confusing timeline that she and the Obama administration have offered around the deadly September attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya, might have altered that political course, begun years ago with the help of a powerful family friend.
FULL STORY
Ms. Rice is an accomplished woman which is the problem. She has much stronger credentials than many men and they would have difficulty supporting her.
Condeleeza Rice had much stronger credentials that many of the men in the Bush Administration yet she was not made Secretary of State in the first administration. I would hope she would have been strong enough to keep Cheney and /Rumsfeld from running the show. Think back to the way Colin Powell spoke at the UN. His statements were not true and they came from the Bush intelligence people. Did McCain or Graham hart about that? No, they believed the intelligence and Mr. McCain still believes they had wmd.
Let the nominating process begin. McCain and company will make a spectacle of themself then hit the Sunday talk shows. Ms Rice will be confirmed as SOS.
The simple fact s that the repuks, LOST, cannot get over it, and now their goal is to attack, embarass, & defame democrats! While Bengazi was a bad situation, lives lost, it is OVER! We will find out who did it and eventually get them, one way or the other! The repuks NEED to be thinking about these other problems WE have, like this "fiscal cliff"!
for Senator Mc Cane, Nov 6th brought bak the bitter memory of losing in 2008, and he went cranky, again....Senator, there once lived a brave soldier in that body, who loved his country and honor, before himself. What happened to him? I guess Washington.
Pres Obama and Rice couldn't tell the actual truth if their lives depended on it. It is a shame you can't trust them.
