(CNN) - Former GOP presidential running mates Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan met Thursday morning in a Washington hotel, a Republican official told CNN.
The meeting ended around 11 a.m. ET, the official said. Following the meeting, Ryan issued a statement saying he was "grateful to Governor Romney for the honor of joining his ticket this fall, and I cherish our friendship."
"I'm proud of the principles and ideas we advanced during the campaign and the commitment we share to expanding opportunity and promoting economic security for American families," Ryan continued in the statement.
A Ryan aide said the meeting was "constructive and positive," and focused both on reflections from the campaign and on upcoming fiscal and economic challenges for the country.
"I'm proud of the principles and ideas we advanced during the campaign and the commitment we share to expanding opportunity and promoting economic security for American families,"
Talk about denial. Those "principles and ideas" will never be expanded on the American people (thank God) and we're better for it.
"grateful to Governor Romney for the honor of joining his ticket this fall, and I cherish our friendship."

Translation: Our campaign was based on lies and so is this statement.
Isn't that sweet of the lyan altar boy? What friendship? The twit picked you to bring in the haters of women, Blacks, Latinos and everything "not him" and you couldn't even hand him your own state which you won by Gerrymandering your own district.
You two looked stiffer than Pinocchio's nose with all your lies and innuendos. The twit couldn't stand the chanting of the handful of folks at an airport. I will never forget Joe Scarborough's reaction to the Romney/Ryan pathetic chant where he invoked sweet Jesus.
I hope these two can fade to black like all the other losers did before John McBitter. The election is over they lost. Really dont care....
So did Paul Ryan join them during lunch?
Doesn't feel right
Think perhaps Ryan may be considering 2016.. and "donations"
Translation: "Don't blame me, I was just along for the ride. Vote Ryan '16,"
Thank GOD the gruesome twosome will NEVER inhabit the OVAL OFFICE!!
Friendship doesn't mean you muzzle your bosom buddy's opinion because you are afraid of turning away non-Conservative and moderate voters....unless that was only part of Romney's campaign strategy. hmmmmmm......
I wonder if Romney will cherish the friendships that he made during the Republican primary....
maybe Ryan can pick Romney for his running mate in '16. That would save on the design of a new logo and that idiot that had it tatoo'd on his face would be happy!
Might as well be friends here on earth because they aren't meeting up in Heaven, according to Mitt the Mormon we all don't know the secret hand shake,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
These are 2 faces that just don't appear trustworthy, ones(Romney) got a phony grin, the other (Ryan) has convinced the GOP he's the smartest thing walking and talking and talks down to Americans like our problems can be wrapped up like a neat little Xmas package and placed under a tree, in other words he's more childlike.
And what decisions there can be? A year ago, when a debt ceiling was lifted, reduction of expenses from the 2013th was a main precondition. It can be cancelled now? But same there will be the real clownery. Besides, I don't think that not reduction of privileges will exclude falling of real gross domestic product (if to take away real inflation). Simply gross domestic product will fall together with dollar. There is a month to the next raising of a debt ceiling, and Chinese already say that will get rid from tresures.
I wonder if Ryan has asked Mitt for his endorsement for 2016 yet? or did Ryan already do that when he still contested for his House seat while seating with Mitt waiting for the presidential results to be counted. I am also wondering how much faith did Ryan have in Mitt if he still contested his house seat? if you get married to someone and they insist on a prenup can you really say they intended to give the marriage thier best effort when they ask for a divorce. I am wondering if Mitt is not thinking the same thing?
