Washington (CNNMoney) - The White House initial proposal to avert the fiscal cliff includes $200 billion in economic boosters - a stimulus plan Republican critics are railing against when they say the country needs to start reducing debt.
But even deficit hawks say spending more now is fine and even warranted to support a fledgling economic recovery. The key is long-term cuts that take effect down the road.

I really love our DUDE–he will be much more aggressive than first term.
PS: we need strong secret service security for this dude.
But even deficit hawks say spending more now is fine and even warranted to support a fledgling economic recovery.
-------------------------------------------------
There is no bigger head-spinner for an elected Republican official than the possibility of -horrors- spending American money right here in America. Don't these Democrats and Independents know that our hard-earned money should be spent overseas, preferably on unnecessary wars that would benefit our wealthy political contributors?
Forward America.
I say, if the Tea Partiers and deficit hawks in the House want to cut spending, then I say let's cut spending to the their red states that "take" far more from the blue state "makers."
CNN: White House won't counter Boehner's fiscal proposal
--------------------
No making counter offers is exactly what the GOTP has done for the past four years. Standing firm with the threat of economic damage looming large, until Pres. Obama aquiesced before it was too late.
I don't think Republicans realize that the public has noticed this pattern of counter-productive behavior from the right. I don't think they realize they people know what they voted for....TWICE..., which was raising the highest rates and raising capital gains rates.
I don't think the Republicans even care what the majority think, just by virtue of the simple fact that they've stopped using phrases like "most Americans". I don't think any of the Tea Party Republicans really know how to govern, because they display a "church fund mentality" to federal budgets.
I think we should go with President Obama's plan
Why is is unacceptable for us to spend tax dollars on our economy? Oh that's right ; Wars pay for themselves and deficits don't matter. Both from the trickle down, tax cuts create jobs crowd, otherwise known as GOP/Tea Potties. I can't wait to vote these dweebs out of congress
There is NO ONE but Dems supporting more stimulus.
Not anyone else. It will simply be money thrown away, because there are no JOBS!
The lunatic fringe will always be there.....the rest of the country has to use reason, common sense, and perseverance to lead our nation into this next century. The more people who vote and keep voting in EVERY ELECTION .....the fringe shall remain just that....isolated in their own little world. The key word being LITTLE!!!!
What a Tangled Web We Weave, When First We Practice to Decieve. Hey Flapjaw! If your first try didn't suceed why are you trying it again? Anything but what will work. Memo! Get Rid of Obama Care! Extend the Bush Tax Cuts for at least 10 more years! We don't need another 6 Trillion in Federal debt! Please, don't do us any more favors, we can't afford them!
How is it the GOP/Tea crowd continue to believe that doing the same thing over and over again will bring a different result? Tax cuts do not mean MORE JOBS! Its hasn't worked and never will. When a business owner is making decisions about profits at the end of each year, they consider the impact of the tax rate if they decide to pocket the yearly profit. If its too high or not in the plan, THEY RE-INVEST THE PROFITS in the business which creates jobs. This is Business 101 but we have the dumb amongst us telling us this is "punishing success". Smart business owners do this every year. The tax rates, if high, is a good thing

What you wrote does not make any sense. You, I take it, do not support any "stimulus" or stimulative spending because "there are no JOBS"? That's crazy. That's like saying you do not support planting seeds in the farm field because you do not see any plants in the field.
"I think we should go with President Obama's plan"
We might just as well. It's not as if Corporate America CEOs haven't been sitting on billions in profit for the past ... oh, I don't know ... decade or so. The GOP is still too busy playing chicken with Limbaugh and Friends. Someone needs to jump start the economy and apparently only President Obama is willing. That and he doesn't owe an oath pledge of fidelity to Norquist.
Gurgyl
I really love our DUDEāhe will be much more aggressive than first term
-------------------------------------------------
Absolutely Gurgyl. I would venture to say that "aggressive" would be putting it mildly.
I think the President has hewed the mandate that we gave him on November 6th into HUGE political capital, as well he should have. Combine that with his unique ability and surgical like precision to place his foes in unenviable and untenable political positions and all I can say is I hope I don't run out of popcorn!
I've been waiting YEARS for President Obama unleashed!
Forward!
What this should read as is: "We're going to print $200 Billion more dollars."
Wow Rudy, I love what you said. It was rational, practical, and made sense. But that means nothing to the vapid Tea Potty followers. i.e. Rick Mac
