(CNN) – Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin apologized Monday night for describing some Congressional Republicans as "wusses" who are being "wobbly" on conservative principles in the fiscal cliff debate.
"Well I guess I shouldn't call politicians names, so I apologize for calling the wobbly ones wusses," Palin said on Fox News.

Days earlier, the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee cautioned on the same network that some Republicans were compromising too much in the deficit-reduction battle taking place in Washington.
Lawmakers face an end-of-the-year deadline to reach an agreement before a large amount of tax hikes and spending cuts kick in. Democrats and Republicans are at a virtual stalemate over whether to raise tax rates on the wealthy–a provision that many in the GOP are actively working to prevent.
"Republicans, don't get wobbly on us. Don't be wusses about this," she said Friday. "We just elected you as representatives of the people to get there in Washington, D.C. and rein it in."
To the federal government, Palin pleaded: "Become as irrelevant in our lives as possible, please."
The conservative firebrand later regretted her choice of words, saying the calling of names "distracts from the point that has to be made."
"The point is that we are a bankrupt country," she added. "There isn't enough money in the world to pay back the future generations that we have stolen from and foreign countries that we have borrowed from and, through quantitative easing, the money that has been printed out of thin air."
Palin, however, stood by her stance that the problem stems from President Barack Obama's leadership and she has urged Congress to "work around those failed ideas coming from the president."
Also on Friday, Palin insisted that because of the nation's increasing debt, the country "has already gone over the cliff."
"It's just a matter of how hard are we going to thump down there at the bottom of the cliff," she said.
Her 15 minutes were up 4 hours ago.
"When you throw a stone into a pack of wild dogs, the one that yelps is the one that got hit". I can hear the yelps from the liberals in the lapdog media, and from posters here, loud and clear. Seems our Sarah has struck quite a few nerves, for someone who is supposedly irrelevant.
She has a better handle on the truth, and more wisdom and courage, than most people will ever amass as long as they live.
Former governor of the most socialized state in America – criticizing HER OWN PARTY members for not being 'conservative' enough.
The irony is delicious.
"some Republicans were compromising too much"
IN WHAT WORLD??????? The 'Pukes have steadfastly REFUSED to compromise in any way shape or form.
This woman is irrelevant. Her followers are as well, as was seen in the latest presidential election.
"The point is that we are a bankrupt country," she added." and yet, How much that wardrobe that you used awhile back cost? Your Hypocrisy is just mind boggling...Sara, so please just go away...
Shouldn't she be talking about U.S. Americans, maps, and "everywhere like such as the Iraq".
It takes one to know one!!!!!!!! She should be done for CNN to even report what comes out of her mouth.......
Read it carefully, the 'apology' was a double-down insult. We have already gone over the cliff and her plea to govt to stay out of our lives is spot-on.
I think it is about time that CNN stop covering what paid FAUX News commentators say on Faux News. They (Faux News) are not a credible source, so why should their paid comentators be any different.
Why is anyone asking this grifter anything about anything?
Isn't it strange how Republicans will only apologize or admit errors to their fellow Republicans? Not only that, when they do it, the apology always comes across as if they're self flagellating and paying homage to something.
Do we now see why the GOP is becoming extinct? If this is the person they take advice from, they deserve the wretched faith that is coming to them.
Where was the compromise during the health care and Dodd-Frank issues. I didn't see Liberals screaming for compromise and reaching-across the table then. Let's see – maybe you could call the Administration's position on this "cliff" a bit uncompromising. You think? Sarah doesn't have to apologize – the establishment Republicans are wusses. Keep firing them up Sarah.
And the Press think she's relevant in politic...no wonder they all looked shocked election night.
This woman is part of the problem, she can't even control what goes on in her own household, yet always seem to emerge with snarky remarks. She never has an intelligent comment about anything ever that has to do with policy or problem solving. She is no narrow minded and everytime she speaks Americans should be reminded how John McCain's makes decisions and how he has the nerve to criticize Susan Rice when this is the woman who would have been a heart beat away from being POTUS! John McCain is no hero, he is a ZERO and it is shameful how he is conducting himself. He actually had a nerve to call John Kerry Mr. Secretary yesterday which just confirms why he is trying to destroy Ms. Rice.!
Now here is the one Republicans built in to significance. In case no one noticed you are looking at the picture of the current Republican Party.
No apology called for. Call them what they are. The politically correct approach is a stupid one, favored by the Dems to cover up the truth.
"Medicaid".........medical welfare
"Nutritional supplement"..........food stamps
"SS disability"..........welfare paid out of SS that was intended to be for seniors.
"ObamaCare"...........medical welfare for the poor, paid for by everyone else.
It goes on, and on, and on.
Shes ready to lead over the clif!
Let us remember her as the pariah of the Arizona shooting. She repulsed us then and she still does.
Sarah, please, please go away...you've made money honey, so just shut up.
Who is this Sarah Palin person again?
Quit giving this intellectual "wuss" any sort of press! She needs to go away and never be heard from again...starting NOW!
