Same players, same disputes in fiscal cliff debate

Washintgon (CNN) - If insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting a different result, then continuing negotiations on a deal to avoid the fiscal cliff might amount to little more than crazy talk.

The same players are arguing about the same issue - taxes - in a repeat of budget showdowns of the past two years that failed to reach a comprehensive agreement.

Time to jail the GOP.- it would be for their own good- or at least until the meds kick in.

When Obama reaches the debt ceiling, probably in late January.........then it is going to get really messy, because Obama has no ability to control his runaway spending.........and that simply can't continue.

Same players, same disputes, and all of the same pieces on the game board in pretty much the same places the last time the GOP painted themselves into a corner holding a middle class tax cut hostage, so that they can continue the Bush Tax Cuts on the top rates.....and the LOW capital gains rate.

Obviously, you fail to understand how the federal budget works. You cannot just simply cut spending that has been legislated into the budget by prior sessions of Congress. You also fail to acknowledge that all spending originates in the House, not the Senate, even though it is signed into law by the POTUS.

It is not a Cliff it is a door way out

if tax cuts end then then the USA will be closer to taxing the rich like Canada does – Obama just has to get the money back to the 98%

take the cliff and go out the door way – to a better future i.e.

    – Canadian live longer
    – pay more taxes but have more take home pay
    – lower unemployment rate
    – more rich foreign people trying to invest in Canada and live in Canada than other countries
    – higher education per population

our tax rate does not scare people away it creates one of the best economies in the world

Obama is on the right track – make the rich pay more taxes most of them want to and get rid of the GOP in 2014 and you will be doing GREAT

Obama is on the right track! –

The GOP is committing political suicide and apparently wants a large audience.
