Obama requests $60.4B for Sandy relief

Are the Republicans going to bash Obama's spending in this regard? Are they going to say he is giving welfare to NJ and NY residence? Is FEMA another useless government agency that needs to be cut so capitalist vultures can swoop in and privatize emergency relief on a private level?

Hope it not for people who have beach houses but did not have insurance. Please do not buy a house on the beach and expect taxpayers dollars every time mother nature comes calling.

Awe shucks some Republicans say Obama is playing politics hoping that Republicans will vote his request down! yet another baseless conspiracy type theory.
However, lets just suppose Republicans do vote it down, then we know even more about the type of government we would get think also disability convention from UN
The teapartiers are so likely to vote this Sandy relief down it is untrue.

Obama doesn't "request" anything. He simply demands it.

This is just a reminder that Obama actually can't spend money that has not been authorized by Congress, and he actually can't raise taxes by himself. Republicans are in control of the House, so they write the actual budget and all revenue bills must originate in the House. If Republicans want to stop "runaway spending" by Obama, they need to write the "runaway spending" out of the budget. This means that Republicans will actually need to name the "runaway spending" in the budget, which is a nonstarter for Republicans because they actually want to increase military spending and they need the senior vote.

yep why spend anything to help fellow Americans in tragedy just let them fend for themselves. That is the Republican way. HOWEVER if the president were to suggest such a thing the right wing would attack him like a wolf after red meat.
