Palin bashes Time magazine's 'Person of the Year'

(CNN) - Sarah Palin, who's been listed twice as one of Time Magazine's "100 Most Influential People," is taking issue with the publication's decision to name President Barack Obama as its "Person of the Year."

Poking fun at herself, the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee said the magazine lacks a certain degree of relevancy.

"Time magazine, I think there's some irrelevancy there to tell you the truth. I mean consider their list of the most influential people in the country and in the world. Some who have made that list? Yours truly. That oughta tell ya something right there regarding the credence we should give Time magazine and their list of people," she said Wednesday on Fox News.

Managing editor Richard Stengel wrote Obama deserved the recognition because he "forged a new majority, turned weakness into opportunity and sought, amid great adversity, to create a more perfect union."

But Palin, who along with 2008 GOP presidential nominee Sen. John McCain, lost to the Democratic presidential ticket four years ago, said "those are some silly words chosen to describe Barack Obama."

"When I first heard that, the first thing that popped in my mind was: What the heck has he done? Really, what has he done, except drive us over a fiscal cliff," she said. "What has he done to unify and make our nation a more perfect union? For the life of me, I don't know."

The former Alaska governor was chosen as one of the magazine's most influential people in 2009 and held a top spot on the same list in 2010. She was also considered one of four runners-up for "Person of the Year" in 2008, when Obama first received the title, and as someone "who mattered" in 2010.

She argued that "the path towards a perfect union is our Constitution" but said Obama "sees it as a charger of negatives" that needs serious changes.

Palin stoked speculation for much of 2011 as she considered a presidential bid but ultimately decided to stay out of the running. She largely stayed out of the presidential race, instead choosing to campaign for conservative Senate candidates in GOP primary battles.

As my dad would say, "Who pulled your string?" I wish she and her family would crawl back into the permafrost they crawled out from.

"What has he done," Palin queries. Well, she wouldn't know because as exposed in her Katie Couric interview, Palin does not read any informative news sources. Frankly, I've been waiting for her to come forward and inform the public as to how necessary assault weapons are for moose hunting. Amazing how quiet she's been this past week on that topic.

Talk about not relevant - Ms. Palin is perhaps one of the more non-relevant people in the world right now. She has nothing to add to the national conversation – she should stay in Alaska and do whatever someone who quits a political office does.

Time is only attempting to save itself from its own cliff.

Ms. Palin, we were over the fiscal cliff long ago. The banking industry made sure of that in the middle of the last decade, and it doesn't help that your party likes to promote the interests of corporate fat cats in bed with the state.

Sara, why do you continually stay around where you are not wanted, When a joke is told, people laugh then move on, People laughed at you and now we have moved on, time for you to do the same!!!

Time Magazine lacks a certain degree of relevancy???

Sarah Palin is the definition of "lack of relevancy"!

I just looked up "irrelevant" in the dictionary, and her picture was there.

Boy, Time has egg on their face for picking her as influential. Where is she now? A case of Time being so far in the media bubble, that they couldn't see Palin for the fly by night agitprop flavor of the month that she was. Remember when Capitol Records did an onslaught of promotion to convince the public that The Knack was the new Beatles?

The news media gives Ms. Palin to much airtime, Fox News is her platform, with out that she would have nothing, go talk about your buddies that lost, go help your family and leave people who are really doing something for the country alone. If you are not going to help let it alone.

I'm sure that the President's feelings will be hurt (not). He probably kisses her photo and giggles every morning, knowing her presence as McCain's mate turned a close race into a cakewalk. The fact that such an uneducated woman can earn any sort of living as a commentator on serious issues says a lot about the decay of society. Musicians and athletes might be overpaid, but at least they are good at something.

You Sarah-bashers have it all wrong. You need to enjoy this unique time in history when such an unusual person can become a political icon. No fiction writer could possibly concoct such a character, let alone pen the farcical, surreal pronouncements she loves to make. Keep it coming, Sarah!

"Now that Republicans have a serious proposal that would pass the House and would seem to meet the requirements Democrats previously insisted on, Reid won't permit a vote."
So, who is the real party of "no?" Republicans keep putting up bills and Reid keeps "tabling" them, not even allowing a vote. The obstructionist party has been the democrats all along. Yeah, Yeah, the left does not like what is in the bills, but that does not matter in whether or not to allow a vote.

Hey Palin, there's entire websites dedicated to highlighting the accomplishments of President Obama. Try using that mousey clicky thing and read them.

You know, she got to run for vice president because McCain didn't have a clue as to what he was doing and she was govenor of a gigantic state with a tiny population (like the size of a neighborhood in NY City) and somehow she still gets all of this attention. Probabaly it's because she's mastered the art of saying stupid things and stupid statments will get you face time and saying things that make sense generally won't.

A more relevant question is: Why does the news media still cover her? I know I'm brighter, do more to help my community, and I'm more well read, but you don't quote me.

Time Magazine chose the right Person of the Year! He divided the country; made success a crime; and drives home the fact that government handouts ensure that the U.S becomes a "fourth world" country.

Palin should have been chosen as Person of the Year.... 4 years after making herself a nationwide buffoon she has more money than ever, had a hit reality show, got her daughter a show and onto Dancing with the Stars and she still has the media caring what she says....
