Palin bashes Time magazine's 'Person of the Year'

(CNN) - Sarah Palin, who's been listed twice as one of Time Magazine's "100 Most Influential People," is taking issue with the publication's decision to name President Barack Obama as its "Person of the Year."

Poking fun at herself, the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee said the magazine lacks a certain degree of relevancy.

"Time magazine, I think there's some irrelevancy there to tell you the truth. I mean consider their list of the most influential people in the country and in the world. Some who have made that list? Yours truly. That oughta tell ya something right there regarding the credence we should give Time magazine and their list of people," she said Wednesday on Fox News.

Managing editor Richard Stengel wrote Obama deserved the recognition because he "forged a new majority, turned weakness into opportunity and sought, amid great adversity, to create a more perfect union."

But Palin, who along with 2008 GOP presidential nominee Sen. John McCain, lost to the Democratic presidential ticket four years ago, said "those are some silly words chosen to describe Barack Obama."

"When I first heard that, the first thing that popped in my mind was: What the heck has he done? Really, what has he done, except drive us over a fiscal cliff," she said. "What has he done to unify and make our nation a more perfect union? For the life of me, I don't know."

The former Alaska governor was chosen as one of the magazine's most influential people in 2009 and held a top spot on the same list in 2010. She was also considered one of four runners-up for "Person of the Year" in 2008, when Obama first received the title, and as someone "who mattered" in 2010.

She argued that "the path towards a perfect union is our Constitution" but said Obama "sees it as a charger of negatives" that needs serious changes.

Palin stoked speculation for much of 2011 as she considered a presidential bid but ultimately decided to stay out of the running. She largely stayed out of the presidential race, instead choosing to campaign for conservative Senate candidates in GOP primary battles.

I guess I don't read the Bible enough.

It all makes sense now. Gay marriage & marijuana being legalized on the
    same day.

Leviticus 20:13- "If a man lays with another man he should be stoned."
We were just interpreting it wrong.

Uh, oh. Looks as if Westboro Baptist Church is trying to get it's hooks into CNN. I know, I know. This happens when you court the Tea Party fanatics. They become mentally intertwined with one another.

That thought that she said poped into her head was truly the first one. She reminds me of one of those people you can't insult. She is without a doubt the most irrelevent public official in the history of the republic. My god doesn't she know how she's viewed by most people. Isn't there someone who loves her that will tell her to just shut up because when she opens her mouth she sounds stupid.

On a daly when we are honoring Sen. Inouye we have Sarah Palin on the CNN news. What a comparison! One who used his elective office for the good of the people he served. He did not like the spotlight and certainly did not call attention to his resume which is amazing. Then we have Sarah Palin commenting on the "Man of the Year" because she has decided that the President did not deserve this honor. Unfortunately, she shows just how shallow she really is.

The Real Tom Paine- Obama has NO intention of ever observing a path to sanity. Spend, Spend, Spend and then find someone else to demonize into contributing more money for him to spend is the only goal he has!
And the math the righties have used has worked? WE have been paying for this objectivist pipe dream for the last 3 decades, and NOW the self-declared party of personal responsibility is objecting? We had a balanced budget because a Democratic president had the gonads to do it, and it was blown to hell by the most spendthrift, irresponsible group in history. It took them only 6 years to run the tab up, and just because Obama had the honesty to want to pay for what we claim we want is no fault of his. The slight-of-hand accounting the Right operated under is gone for good, at least. At least the numbers are honest, or do you prefer to continue to live in your alternate universe where the GOP can subtract and still come out ahead? The GOP only demonizes and kicks the can down the road: remember that deficits have never mattered to them? Darth Cheney said it repeatedly, and I bet you never objected, oh superannuated one.

"What has he done to unify and make our nation a more perfect union? For the life of me, I don't know."

Maybe if Sarah Palin actually read a newspaper or magazine once in a while, she'd have a clue.

    Then again, maybe not.

Sara palin is in no position to comment on anyone or anything's relevancy. She has become entirely irrelevant over the last several years and serves only as a reminder of when the GOP truly and finally lost their freakin' mind.

One thing Sarah Palin is not – Gracious. Did her mother teach her nothing? Or maybe I shouldn't blame the mother, maybe the daughter is just a slow learner.

Regardless of the messenger, the question is legitimate: What has Obama done? He got a Nobel prize based on a promise. Is he now Person of the Year based on his potentials?

As usual, a collection of posts from the Right upholding flimsy evidence of Palin's vast intellect and character, while decrying the supposed lack of class on the part of her detractors. When dealing with trash, its hard not get nasty: that is, when you stop laughing long enough to do so.

Sarah Palin even people in Canada think your are an idiot! You are quite an attractive woman but your brain power leaves a lot to be desired. Sometimes it is better to stay quite and be thought a fool instead of opening your mouth and remove all doubt!

@Ratified1791 and the rest of the teabaggers who don't know fact from fiction: here's a quick summary of SOME of Obama's accomplishments in the first term in office: Passed Health Care Reform, passed the Stimulus, passed Wall Street Reform, ended the War in Iraq, eliminated Osama bin Laden, turned Around U.S. Auto Industry, recapitalized banks, increased support for veterans, tightened sanctions on Iran, achieved New START Treaty, expanded National Service, and about 100 other major and minor actions designed to help clean up the mess left behind by the Bush administration.

So, what's Sarah done since 2008?
