Palin bashes Time magazine's 'Person of the Year'

(CNN) - Sarah Palin, who's been listed twice as one of Time Magazine's "100 Most Influential People," is taking issue with the publication's decision to name President Barack Obama as its "Person of the Year."

Poking fun at herself, the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee said the magazine lacks a certain degree of relevancy.

"Time magazine, I think there's some irrelevancy there to tell you the truth. I mean consider their list of the most influential people in the country and in the world. Some who have made that list? Yours truly. That oughta tell ya something right there regarding the credence we should give Time magazine and their list of people," she said Wednesday on Fox News.

Managing editor Richard Stengel wrote Obama deserved the recognition because he "forged a new majority, turned weakness into opportunity and sought, amid great adversity, to create a more perfect union."

But Palin, who along with 2008 GOP presidential nominee Sen. John McCain, lost to the Democratic presidential ticket four years ago, said "those are some silly words chosen to describe Barack Obama."

"When I first heard that, the first thing that popped in my mind was: What the heck has he done? Really, what has he done, except drive us over a fiscal cliff," she said. "What has he done to unify and make our nation a more perfect union? For the life of me, I don't know."

The former Alaska governor was chosen as one of the magazine's most influential people in 2009 and held a top spot on the same list in 2010. She was also considered one of four runners-up for "Person of the Year" in 2008, when Obama first received the title, and as someone "who mattered" in 2010.

She argued that "the path towards a perfect union is our Constitution" but said Obama "sees it as a charger of negatives" that needs serious changes.

Palin stoked speculation for much of 2011 as she considered a presidential bid but ultimately decided to stay out of the running. She largely stayed out of the presidential race, instead choosing to campaign for conservative Senate candidates in GOP primary battles.

Can anyone name a conservative who could stand a chance of even being nominated as finalist for Person of the Year? Bash Pres. Obama all you wish for receiving the honor. The whining and bashing comes across as juvenile when you cannot come up with a name that you feel should have won the award. All of it just simply takes the party down another notch, most especially with a torch bearer like Sarah Palin.

In Sarah Palin's mind, the only thing that is relevant is Sarah Palin. Of course she would think the words Time used to describe President Obama were silly, since she doesn't know what they mean. I just can't believe this woman has the gall to bash the President when she is such a trivial, unimportant piece of has-been negativity. Although I do like reading about her on the Ticker; sometimes I just need a good laugh.

Her and her entire family are a bunch of hooligan hillbillies, all trying to cash in on their dysfunctional family life. Babies out of wedlock. Divorces. Affairs and the like. The real question is.............what has SHE done?

Time magazine should reverse their decision on Person of the Year, not because President doesnt deserve it, with light of what has happened in Newtown and it has affected everyone around the word, they should name Person of the year to be the TEACHERS who dedicate their life to teaching and giving our kids the love...

This woman is an embarressment to your country. Too bad, because there are many brilliant and very good people in the USA.

The ONLY reason any of us have even HEARD of Palin, is because MCCain figured having a woman on his team would bring in the female vote. That made McCain look stupid and pathetic. Because palin is stupid and pathetic. The campaign turned into a farce as soon as Palin got involved. Her incredible arrogants was confirmed when she accepted the nomination in the first place.

I could image her thought process when considering McCain's invitation... "Well, let me think about this for a second... I am the governor of the smallest (population) state in America... and have been for about ten minutes. Oh, and I WAS the mayor of Wasilla. (8,000 people)... That's gotta count for something. I'm pretty hot, so I'll be popular. Okay, I'll do this. I'll be the vice-President of the most powerful nation on earth. Yep, I'll be the number two most powerful person in the entire world.. You betcha, I will."

Sarah, if you read this, PLEASE shut up. Your 15 minutes are over. You've made a bunch of money from your stupid books and even stupider reality TV series. (How did we know this would happen?) Everyone I know, in both the US and in Canada are tired of your whining and juvenile outbursts.

It's scary to know that you live close to Canada... so, please stay out of our country.

What meaning does Palin's opinion on anything have? She is basically a no-body. I am still waiting for her to appear in Playboy.

I find it somewhat humorous for a bad mayor, quit-governor, failed VP candidate, and 0-8 Senate endorser to ask "what has Obama done". If he rolled out of bed in the morning he has accomplished more than Sarah Palin.

"'s servile pandering to the Democratic Party" is exactly right Ibrahim. that man is promoting class warfare, left 4 Americans to die in Benghazi at the hands of his muslim buddies, is busily bankrupting the nation, doing what he can to reduce our defenses against foreign and domestic aggression, all with a smirk. At least this time the Times did't creat a halo around his head likethe last 2 times they featured his face on the cover.

I see the liberal grammar and speech patrol is out in full FARCE! Sarah is spot on! Your hero Obama and his horrible policies have turned our nation into a chaotic and divisive mess. Nice to see that along with Srah Palin and Jan Brewer America still has some intelligent, principled and strong women who are not afraid to tell it like it is.

I doubt she actually read the article because it's not written on her hand. She's probably reacting to the picture on the cover because maybe there's not enough pictures for her to follow inside the magazine either.

Why does anyone care what Sarah Palin says anymore? I think she has used up her 15 minutes and should go back to taking geography lessons so she can figure out where Russia is.

WOW! Is he really that great??? Seriously...can anyone list at least 3 accomplishments that have nothing to do with the color of his skin??? How about content of his character and leadership??? Person of the Year should have been Ambassador Stevens for laying down his life after repeatedly requesting help from the Dept of State(WH), even the morning of his death! Seems like Time Magazine continues to have brain farts and has tunnel vision of their agendas...what a joke this magazine has become and it's committee for being so short sighted and truly trashing the meaning of what a person of the year about the 20 children that died in Newton? their teachers? I will never support Time Magazine guys are a joke...putting your political antics before true heroism, valor, determination, and content....Have fun with your EMPTY CHAIR!!

This folks, is what the GOP is reduced to- an idiot who lacks even basic knowledge of how our government works, criticising anything she fails to see value in or understand. I give you this century's version of Luddites- the GOP.
