Obama announces Kerry as nominee for secretary of state

(CNN) - Democratic Sen. John Kerry is President Obama's nominee for secretary of state.

Obama made the announcement Friday.

    ya know, it will be nice to have a drama free nomination process for a change. The GOtP have already indicated they will not oppose Kerry. That is all I am looking forward to in this situation. Susan Rice should have been nominated

    John Kerry has always been a "constructive" Senator and not mean and destructive like John McCain, that's why his skills are important as SOS. But then again, angry old McCain thinks there's something in it for him, NOT, we're just waiting for him to go away.

    Don't have to. It's well known that he and the ketchup heiress have all their hundreds of millions in tax free municipal bonds, the interest on which they pay ZERO in state and federal taxes.
