(CNN) - Following a week of White House meetings on the gun control debate, Vice President Joe Biden spoke this weekend with family members of victims from last month's Newtown, Connecticut shooting, his son said Monday.
"My father's spent a lot of time working with all the stakeholders, from the NRA to sportsmen to victims to survivors," Beau Biden, attorney general of Delaware, said on CNN's "The Situation Room." "He was on the phone with many of the survivors of the tragedy in Connecticut."

"I was in and out of the room when he was on some of these calls," he continued. "I would, you know, go to the door and go away when I knew he was on the phone with these moms and dads," Biden said. "So he's listened to everyone that has a stake in this and is doing his best to come up with a comprehensive strategy."
Last week, Biden met with pro- and anti-gun groups as part of a White House effort to push legislation aimed at curbing gun violence. President Barack Obama appointed Biden to the task last month, days after the Connecticut massacre that left 27 dead, as well as the gunman.
Obama said in a press conference Monday that he's already reviewing some of Biden's report and expects "to have a fuller presentation later in the week to give people some specifics about what I think we need to do."
Monday marked the one month anniversary of the deadly Connecticut shooting.
