Bill Clinton jokes about Hillary's future

(CNN) – Secretary of State Hillary Clinton may not know her plans for the future, but her husband certainly pictures her being around for a long, long time.

Talking about her recent health setback, former President Bill Clinton said his wife will be just fine and boasted of her "low blood pressure" and "standing heartbeat."

"I tell her…she's still got time to have three more husbands after me," he joked. "So I think she'll live to be 120."

"I always know that she's thinking about that," he continued. "Whenever I'm stubborn about something, in her constant quest in my self-improvement, she refers to me as her first husband."

His comments came while speaking at his second annual "Health Matters: Activating Wellness in Every Generation" conference in Palm Springs, California.

Hillary Clinton was recently sidelined by illness, a concussion and a blood clot near her brain, for which she was hospitalized. The secretary of state returned to work last week.

She plans to step down from her post as soon as her successor is confirmed. Speaking publicly for the first time since being sick, she told reporters last week she's not sure what comes next but added she'll be stepping "off the very fast track for a little while."

Referring to questions about a potential 2016 presidential bid, her husband said Tuesday his advice "is that she should rest up and decide what she wants to do with the rest of her life."

Hillary " Iraq is unwinnable..." Clinton in 2016? That's the funniest joke in this article. She has no new or original or functional ideas to bring to any table. Her accomplishments are few. I wish her a happy retirement following this consolation prize stint as SoS.

  7. Facts don't Lie

the one negative thing that happened when Clinton lost out to Obama in 2008 was that McCain picked Sarah Palin as his running mate and we have been cursed by that move ever since. Had Clinton won the nomination Sarah Palin would still be an unknown hunting moose for food up in Alaska. McCain would not have needed that "Game Change" that seems to never want to go away.

Ah and Hillary is Bill's first mistress. Never could understand why Bill cheated so much. Hillary was good looking in the nineties and she's still very good looking now. Add in the brains and power and that's one heck of a catch. It always perplexes me why guys with babe-a-licious wives cheat. It just doesn't make any logical sense to me. Greed perhaps? Maybe the elitist mind is tuned to self-entitlement? Oh well, I suppose Peasants like myself will never understand.

If she ran I don't see anybody who could possibly beat her or even make it close. Nothing is a guarantee, but her chances are so overwhelming she almost owes it to her party and country to run. It would be selfish of her if she DIDN'T run.

I wonder what's going to happen to her just before she is supposed to testify on the 23rd? This would be a great office pool question! Let's see... it's got to be something non-permanent such that no one would vote for her in 2016. Concussion: check. Blood clot: check. Hmmm... how about obstructed bowel syndrome?

That last line certainly adds to the 2016 speculation. It wouldn't surprise me that she runs. Winning the nomination is another story.

Bill does not get the point- He is history. And when he is no longer useful to her, his life expectancy is zero. She will be a widow with no grief.

I love these two. Despite all their earlier problems they have managed to stay together and work on their marriage. I hope that after some much needed rest, Hillary runs for president in 2016. She would be a great president and it would be a hoot to have Bill as "First Gentleman".
