(CNN) – It's about time for some bipartisan...skeet shooting?
Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tennessee, joined a chorus of skeptics who questioned President Barack Obama's recent comments about his hobby of skeet shooting, a sport where participants fire shotguns to break airborne clay disks.

"If he is a skeet shooter, why have we not heard of this? Why have we not seen photos? Why hasn't he referenced this at any point in time?" Blackburn said Monday on CNN's "Erin Burnett OutFront."
"I tell you what I do think," she later added. "I think he should invite me to Camp David, and I'll go skeet shooting with him and I bet I'll beat him."
Obama said in an interview published Sunday by The New Republic that he won't ignore the concerns of hunters and sportsmen as his administration pushes for tighter gun laws. To illustrate his point, he added an anecdote about his previously unknown penchant for shooting.
"Up at Camp David, we do skeet shooting all the time," he said, responding to a question about whether he had ever fired a gun. He also added he has included guests on his skeet shooting outings.
Some found the comments puzzling and wondered why he hadn't mentioned his gun experience in the high-profile firearm debate over the past six weeks. The remarks especially fired up some conservative blogs and news outlets.
"We had this debate that is ongoing," Blackburn said. "You would have thought it would have been a point of reference."
When asked by Jessica Yellin, CNN's chief White House correspondent, how often the president goes skeet shooting, White House press secretary Jay Carney said earlier Monday that he doesn't know.
"He does go to Camp David with some regularity, but I'm not sure how often he's done that," Carney said during the daily press briefing.
Pressed further if there was a photograph of the president taking part in the sport, Carney said "There may be, but I haven't seen it."
"Why haven't we heard about it before?" Yellin continued.
"Because when he goes to Camp David, he goes to spend time with his family and friends and relax, not to produce photographs," Carney said.

The point is he is lying.
Send him out with Cheney. We may have a chance at getting lucky judging from his aim.
I doubt Ms. Blackburn's skepticism as anything but grandstanding, teabagging toolery. I hereby challenge her to a moonshine running contest, if she's a REAL Tennessean.
Wake up People!
Am I the only one that thinks the great Walter Cronkite is doing back flips in his grave???? It's like true journalism is dead and gone....

No babe, you're not the only one.
Shameful what passes for "news reporting" these days isn't it?
Just another little fib, in an endless line of lies, from the Liar in Chief.
This is just rediculous! Of all the things to question the President on. SMH, of all the issues this country is facing, this is what you wish to challenge? And you wonder why the public thinks so little of Congress. Passing the Sandy Storm aid, 3 months after. I thought the whole idea of a crisis was to address it immediately. I can only say that "ARRGGGHHHH", this wasn't even news worthy. It's also one of those things that could haev been left unsaid, and unreported.
His skeet shooting anecdote was a composite story of other people skeet shooting and him not.
"If he is a skeet shooter, why have we not heard of this? Why have we not seen photos? Why hasn't he referenced this at any point in time?"
Because it wasn't important till you wingnuts demanded to know what his experience was with guns?
Oh oh oh "Skeet Shooter Truthers". Leave no potential conspiracy theory unturned!
Let's not talk about debt or deficits. Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, are broke, dysfunctional, and a rift with waste, fraud, and folly. The government largesse that belong to We The People, is a debris field. The government largesse for the bureaucrats is fine. When the Battle for Largesse starts, watch the WDC bureaucrats protect their take to the detriment of those of US who have paid in to "the system" for years.
This excuse for a president wouldn't know the truth if you beat him over the head with it.
Concurrent to the great drop in crime is the vast number of guns now in the hands of private citizens. In addition many states have reduced the restrictions on firearms carry. To state that we are very safe so we don’t need guns it to ignore the association between the increasing number of Americans owning guns and the reduction in crime. Before you cry foul, I understand the trending down of crime but there is no conclusive proof that increasing gun ownership and more freedom to carry a firearm for self-preservation has no influence on this trend. To the contrary, there are increasing signs that these policies of freedom are very influential in the decreasing crime rate.
A good analogy would be that when there are sheepdogs guarding the flock, there are no wolf attacks on the flock. This condition exists precisely because the sheepdog acts as a deterrent to the predatory acts of the wolf by providing a parity in force. What would be the fate of the sheep if the dogs where not present? If I were a sheep, I would want a gun. Firearms in the hands of citizens have this deterrent effect.
The assessment that we are now safe and there is no need for firearms for self-defense ignores those who are still victims of violent crime. The proposed legislation will only disarm those who by their very nature abide by the law while having little or no significant effect on those who by their nature choose to break the law and prey on those whom they have very good reason to now believe can no longer respond effectively to their criminal use of unlawful deadly force.
The specious analysis that guns are no longer necessary because we are now safer is analogues the imbecilic observation that people parking at the perimeter of parking lots at large companies are the ones laid off because we notice fewer cars at the outskirts of the parking lot after a layoff.
The sad and often misused propaganda that “if we save even one life” totally ignores the much higher number of lives saved due to the presents of a firearm in the hands of a law abiding citizen.
To paraphrase a wise man, “repeatedly doing the same thing and expecting different results is the definition of insanity”. That has proven to be true throughout human history. When will the insanity of “gun control’ as defined by my liberal and clueless friend and acquaintances be over? If you take guns from the law abiding, then only criminals and the government will be armed. Prohibition was finally repealed; score one for the criminal elements. Currently it is questionable as to the predictive winner in the war on drugs; score two for the criminals? As a betting man, where that may be legal, the government is not the odds on favorite …
And after he passes his sweeping gun ban, he will never shoot skeet again (because he never has shot skeet). Duh.
