Skeptical congresswoman challenges Obama to skeet shooting match
(CNN) – It's about time for some bipartisan...skeet shooting?
Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tennessee, joined a chorus of skeptics who questioned President Barack Obama's recent comments about his hobby of skeet shooting, a sport where participants fire shotguns to break airborne clay disks.

"If he is a skeet shooter, why have we not heard of this? Why have we not seen photos? Why hasn't he referenced this at any point in time?" Blackburn said Monday on CNN's "Erin Burnett OutFront."
"I tell you what I do think," she later added. "I think he should invite me to Camp David, and I'll go skeet shooting with him and I bet I'll beat him."
Obama said in an interview published Sunday by The New Republic that he won't ignore the concerns of hunters and sportsmen as his administration pushes for tighter gun laws. To illustrate his point, he added an anecdote about his previously unknown penchant for shooting.
"Up at Camp David, we do skeet shooting all the time," he said, responding to a question about whether he had ever fired a gun. He also added he has included guests on his skeet shooting outings.
Some found the comments puzzling and wondered why he hadn't mentioned his gun experience in the high-profile firearm debate over the past six weeks. The remarks especially fired up some conservative blogs and news outlets.
"We had this debate that is ongoing," Blackburn said. "You would have thought it would have been a point of reference."
When asked by Jessica Yellin, CNN's chief White House correspondent, how often the president goes skeet shooting, White House press secretary Jay Carney said earlier Monday that he doesn't know.
"He does go to Camp David with some regularity, but I'm not sure how often he's done that," Carney said during the daily press briefing.
Pressed further if there was a photograph of the president taking part in the sport, Carney said "There may be, but I haven't seen it."
"Why haven't we heard about it before?" Yellin continued.
"Because when he goes to Camp David, he goes to spend time with his family and friends and relax, not to produce photographs," Carney said.

Doubt if the secret service protective detail will let Rep Blackburn get near President Obama with a shotgun, especially a right wing Republican.
As long as it's not Cheney.

I am not an Obama fan and even less a fan of any politician who feels the need to concern themselves with how often he does or does not shoot skeet. It is really depressing when you realize the high school mentality (regardless of side) is what is making political decisions on our behalf .
And if you believe he has ever shot a round of skeet in his life, I bet he's got some ocean-front property in Nebraska for sale, too.

It appears that the Congresswoman does not believe the President. It seems that he cannot make any comments without people questioning what he is saying.

Maybe he meant that he shoots real shotguns, or maybe he meant that he plays the skeet shooting stages of the Duck Hunt video game. Whatever he meant, it is a little late for Obama to try to claim that he is like "one of the guys" with respect to firearms.
Well, the redumblicans are skeptical about everything Obama says he does. Oh yes, and the redumblicans want proof of his skeet shooting, just like they needed proof of his birth certificate. He Is the President, he can probably go skeet shooting with fully automatic shotguns if he wants. They might make one for him, and SS can hold him up so he does not fall over.
Of course I believe President Obama is an avid skeet shooter. I bet he's also a huge rodeo fan, and I've seen him participating in several tractor pulls.
I think President Obama should invite Rep. Blackburn to go skeet shooting with former VP Cheney. Old dead-eye Dick hasn't shot anyone in the face in quite awhile.
How productive thought form someone represent a state. How about doing some bipartisan work for the people you represent and the country rather than tooting your gun.

If she wants to spend time at a Maryland mountain resort and shoot skeet, she should quit trolling for in invitation and just make her own reservation at a commercial resort and pay for it with some of the bribe money she gets... err, I mean left over campaign contributions... like other members of Congress. Or maybe she can call it a fact-finding mission and charge it to her official expenses and keep the bribes...err, I mean the left over campaign contributions...for some other purpose.
Of course a republican would ask this. They look for any thing they can to find fault with Obama and they can't do it.They need to look where the faults lie, in the republican party not in our President.
The Marine Corps taught me how to kill a man at 500 meters with a rifle,at 100 feet with a pistol, or at 7 miles with a howitzer...in 65 years I've never been able to do well against little clay discs (if they could laugh at me they would..I don't even scare 'em) ,hence there are no photos of me on the skeet range.I enjoy TRYING , but hate the proof of failure...why is this a topic of discussion?
Talk about high school childish behavior! Marsha Blackburn is a joke after that response! I'm sure Marsha could have been surprised and inquisitive to achieve some biting sarcasm . Rather than calling him a liar and challenging our President of the United States to a grudge match. How do we expect anything to get done in government when this kind of childish behavior is a constant.

He's never shot a firearm in his life. He fears them and has wanted to ban them all for sometime. This guy will say anything, even lie, to further his agenda. He's by far not the only politician who lies, but he certainly is a liar.
Because Congresswoman Blackburn has never seen the President shoot skeet, she strongly implies he is a liar. She is deplorable. I would not let this rabid right wing Tea Bagger within 200 yards of the President with a shotgun….she would pull a Cheney and then say “opps”….The Tea Party has no manners nor class……
