(CNN) – It's about time for some bipartisan...skeet shooting?
Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tennessee, joined a chorus of skeptics who questioned President Barack Obama's recent comments about his hobby of skeet shooting, a sport where participants fire shotguns to break airborne clay disks.

"If he is a skeet shooter, why have we not heard of this? Why have we not seen photos? Why hasn't he referenced this at any point in time?" Blackburn said Monday on CNN's "Erin Burnett OutFront."
"I tell you what I do think," she later added. "I think he should invite me to Camp David, and I'll go skeet shooting with him and I bet I'll beat him."
Obama said in an interview published Sunday by The New Republic that he won't ignore the concerns of hunters and sportsmen as his administration pushes for tighter gun laws. To illustrate his point, he added an anecdote about his previously unknown penchant for shooting.
"Up at Camp David, we do skeet shooting all the time," he said, responding to a question about whether he had ever fired a gun. He also added he has included guests on his skeet shooting outings.
Some found the comments puzzling and wondered why he hadn't mentioned his gun experience in the high-profile firearm debate over the past six weeks. The remarks especially fired up some conservative blogs and news outlets.
"We had this debate that is ongoing," Blackburn said. "You would have thought it would have been a point of reference."
When asked by Jessica Yellin, CNN's chief White House correspondent, how often the president goes skeet shooting, White House press secretary Jay Carney said earlier Monday that he doesn't know.
"He does go to Camp David with some regularity, but I'm not sure how often he's done that," Carney said during the daily press briefing.
Pressed further if there was a photograph of the president taking part in the sport, Carney said "There may be, but I haven't seen it."
"Why haven't we heard about it before?" Yellin continued.
"Because when he goes to Camp David, he goes to spend time with his family and friends and relax, not to produce photographs," Carney said.

When I read this article several day ago where it said that the President goes to "Camp David" and does some "skeet" shooting why wasn't it mentioned. I can tell everyone why it was not suppose to be reported that the President shoot a "shot gun" that is the weapon that is used for "skeet" shooting. There will never be any photo's of the President shooting a gun because this would make him look like a "Hypocrite" and flip flopping on the gun issue. He put his foot in his mouth when he said that he "skeet" shoots. The President believes that people should believes "what he says but not what he does". The only one who is the "Hyporcrite" is the President. I'll bet the next time the President gose to Camp David there will be pictures of him "skeet" shooting to satisfy everyone that he's not a "Hypocrite" and shoots a shot gun.
Dont Marsha and the skeptics have anything better to worry about than how often the PResident shoots skeet?
"OK ..... and we're suppose to give a hoot because .......?"
Because he related the notion that he shoots skeet to get people to assume that, because of that, he wouldn't ever be after their guns. That's what he was trying to say. Now, if the only thing he has to reassure us is as lame as that, it's already pretty p*ss-poor.... if it *isn't even true*, all the more so.
No, it doesn't matter that he lied about shooting skeet. But that he thought that that would get anyone to believe he wasn't after our 2nd amendment rights EVEN IF TRUE, shows him to be a moron. If it is also a lie, then he's a dishonest moron. Who is STILL after our guns and rights.
Go ahead, tell me it doesn't matter. Tell me he is allowed to lie and it's poor style on my part to know it. Go ahead. But he'll NEVER get our guns from us, and we will never stop keeping close watch on his efforts to do that.
Chupacabra, it might be a good idea to outlaw igniting fireworks inside a nightclub with a stage decorated with highly flamable materials and packed to the rafters with patrons. An individual using a match to light a cigarette on the sidewalk doesn't pose a comparable threat, so matches are not the problem; it is how they are used that is a problem.
This guy just cannot resist the temptation to lie. Now he will have to find guests at Camp David who are willing to lie for him to bail him out. What tangled webs we weave.
With all the blatant lies from this administration, this is the issue that one of our "representatives" chooses to challenge?
I have taken to calling my representatives just to see if they still come to work. They certainly don't bother doing anything once they get there. Maybe they should "work from home".
So, basically, under the new and improved rules for "journalism": if someone says something and then someone else, for no apparent reason whatsoever and without any substantive basis or factual backup, simply pipes up and says "nuh uh" like a 3rd-grader on the playground, we now somehow, inexplicably have reached the stage of a "legitimate controversy" that requires weeks of articles and "a national dialogue" and maybe a "something-gate" name. Bang up job you're doing, CNN.
Pathetic.
You go, girl! Winner buys the beer.
is George really that childish? Poor George
"I doubt she cares about anthing unless it gets her in front of a camera to soft-pedal the Tea Party line to gullible, desperate people eagerly looking for someone to blame. They should be blaming people like Balckburn, since they are at fault."
Good luck getting the honesty of your message across to those who actually need a not so subtle lesson in political critical thinking. To quote Karl Rove: "The Tea Party movement lacks sophistication and is, unlike the Reagan Revolution, not well-organized, coherent, ideologically motivated ... " I suspect all that holds the TeaParty together is their absolute hatred of President Obama. It's a well know GOPer secret that all their hate didn't accomplish anything politically constructive this past 4 years. Priebus is now on record for suggesting this is a good time to become GWs kinder, gentler conservative. I have my doubts.
@MPHX please self-terminate immediately.
Why is it a big deal? It is the same to me, his intended target, as if Dick Cheney had said...."but some of my best friends are negros".
When he "does" skeet shooting, I bet he has a corpseman at hand, just in case!
Coginthewheel
Actually the 2nd Amendment is about having an army in every neighborhood.
Hope he shoots skeet better then he throws a baseball!
I don't believe Obama. No one who shoots skeet says "we do skeet shooting".
Everyone knows Obama is lying. He already told a University of Chicago colleague many years ago when the cameras weren't rolling that he believes nobody should be owning guns.
All Hail King Obama
Rep. Blackburn better hope he's better at skeet shooting than bowling. To tell the truth, I'd feel a lot safer with Dick Cheney – if that tells you anything.
The problem is that nobody can serioiusly question Obama's integrity, either because he is black, or because he's a Democrat, or because, because, because, because.... "because of the wonderful things he does!" The fact remains that Obama and his administration have grown the biggest Pinnochio noses in the history of the office while ABC, NBC, CBS and CNN and MSNBC continue to insist every time someone questions the integrity of the Obama administration that their noses are actually getting smaller.
So we're not supposed to criticize or mock "The One"? Is that what empty headed prog leftists are saying now? Don't suppose they see the hypocrisy in their demands... that we're all supposed to just shut up and leave BOzo to do his job of destroying what's left of the economy. Okay, here's a deal... you silly progs explain to us why we still haven't seen GDP growth four years after a "stimulus" that exceeded 2%, when Ronald Reagan's economy was roaring at this point after the deep deep recession of 1981-83. Then you can demand that we be quiet and not exercise our First Amendment right. Huh!?
"We do skeet shooting at Camp David all the time" Really? Anybody that has shot skeet let alone "all the time" does not say we go skeet shooting, they shoot skeet. This is a poor attempt to familarize with sport gun fans and not seem like an anti-gun Czar, FAIL! Tho it is news he goes to Camp Daivd, i thought he couldn't have a vacation unless it was in hawaii...
I am increasingly shocked at how President Obama is completely disrespected by Republicans – it's actually quite sad to witness.
To those who accuse some of crying over the election results, the truth is that the wide spread skepticism for anything that the current president says began during the 2008 campaign. He has himself to blame for the distrust, and no one else.
if he shoots like he throws a baseball she has no worries
Hopefully the guy who did the birth certificate has some spare time and can bang out a picture so Arpio's posse.has something to do. I would suggest they take Piers Morgan and Dick Cheney with them and make it a foursome 😉
