(CNN) – It's about time for some bipartisan...skeet shooting?
Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tennessee, joined a chorus of skeptics who questioned President Barack Obama's recent comments about his hobby of skeet shooting, a sport where participants fire shotguns to break airborne clay disks.

"If he is a skeet shooter, why have we not heard of this? Why have we not seen photos? Why hasn't he referenced this at any point in time?" Blackburn said Monday on CNN's "Erin Burnett OutFront."
"I tell you what I do think," she later added. "I think he should invite me to Camp David, and I'll go skeet shooting with him and I bet I'll beat him."
Obama said in an interview published Sunday by The New Republic that he won't ignore the concerns of hunters and sportsmen as his administration pushes for tighter gun laws. To illustrate his point, he added an anecdote about his previously unknown penchant for shooting.
"Up at Camp David, we do skeet shooting all the time," he said, responding to a question about whether he had ever fired a gun. He also added he has included guests on his skeet shooting outings.
Some found the comments puzzling and wondered why he hadn't mentioned his gun experience in the high-profile firearm debate over the past six weeks. The remarks especially fired up some conservative blogs and news outlets.
"We had this debate that is ongoing," Blackburn said. "You would have thought it would have been a point of reference."
When asked by Jessica Yellin, CNN's chief White House correspondent, how often the president goes skeet shooting, White House press secretary Jay Carney said earlier Monday that he doesn't know.
"He does go to Camp David with some regularity, but I'm not sure how often he's done that," Carney said during the daily press briefing.
Pressed further if there was a photograph of the president taking part in the sport, Carney said "There may be, but I haven't seen it."
"Why haven't we heard about it before?" Yellin continued.
"Because when he goes to Camp David, he goes to spend time with his family and friends and relax, not to produce photographs," Carney said.

He's shot skeet as much as I have – which is exactly nonce.
In La., we have a pic of Bobby Jindal Duck Hunting. Makes Mike Dukakas riding in a tank look like Patton.
In the midwest where Obama is from it is typically called trap shooting, not skeet shooting which is more an Eastern term so if he does shoot he didn't .................
I would imagine he'll be at Camp David this weekend. Expect a pic Sunday night or Monday.
If he is as careless with a shotgun as he is with the truth I wouldn't want to be in the same county at the same time...
this president lies when the truth fits better. remember you can keep your medical plan and the price will not go up.
More WH/Carney bs. How can they even say these things with a straight face?
People who shoot skeet don't say they "do skeet shooting" we say we shoot skeet all the time.
This is definitely in the top 5 most insipid non-controversies ever manufactured by these crybaby right wing idiots. One doesn't need to be a gun nut to shoot skeet. I've been shooting skeet for years, own only a couple of shotguns and have never had the desire to own a tactical weapon or hunt anything other than birds. Absolutely ridiculous!
This entire story is a red herring.
The 2nd Amendment has very little to do with hunting and everything to do with discouraging tyrants.
Why is it that if someone expresses the most miniscule amount of doubt about Obama's sincerity, the person is labeled a skeptic, yet for Bush, the person was a patriot? It must be a sin to express the slightest doubts about the living diety Obama.
pathetic democrats with their "we won" narrative better get ready for the upcoming presidential elections. you're out of viable colored minorities to run, so you probably won't win another election for awhile. who you gonna run, Corrine Brown? LOL
We do not accept his word, he has lied to often, and though a small point in the minds of the left, integrity, honesty, the bible and our guns all matter to those on the right and gun owners who may be libs, heaven forbid.
" I suspect all that holds the TeaParty together is their absolute hatred of President Obama" actually my experience is that it's a love of the constituition.............but not being a member maybe I'm mistaken
Talk about living up to the party of "stupid'. Right on Bobby J.! Right smack on!
Not an easy sport..unless he has his secret service guys hidden in the surrounding woods taking shots at the clay pigeons, he cannot fake it...chances are he is being less than truthful...experience shooter can spot an non-voice in a split second just by his stance...
@Clyde. What about the President lying to the people. Guess that's not high on you list of concerns, unless it's Bush.
It's important because it reveals that Obama is a liar and a hypocrite. Enough whining from the useful drones who are easily fooled into voting for empty suits such as Obama and Clinton.
If he actually shot a gun there would be photos like when he golfs.
He deserves more than challenges in his alleged shooting though, he should be challenged on everything he does.
Joe, you said: "Actually the 2nd Amendment is about having an army in every neighborhood."
I support people being able to own a gun but if you actually READ the entire Constitution and not just the 2nd amendment it's quite clear that the militia referred to in the 2nd is the same militia that Congress has the authority to regulate and call out... the President is the Commander in Chief of the militia. There is nothing in there that says you can create your own private army or do anything 'militia' related that goes against the orders of the Commander in Chief. By militia related I'm not talking about personal self-defense or hunting which back when the Constitution was written was an obvious given. Anyhow, I challenge you to go find a copy of the U.S. Constitution and search it for all instances of MILITIA and read what the whole document says.
I think this minor flap is amusing on a number of levels. First, that it comes from a network often thought of among others as being a Democrat PR firm. And second, that some lefty "urinalists" are now criticizing the source, demanding apologies for an engagement in critical thought. A person doesn't know whether to fall on the floor laughing or fall on the floor and weep for the state of the nation.
Carney = Blarney. I would love to see the prez shoot skeet. It's not something you pick up in a weekend.
Fantastic, he shoots skeet. However, as any constitutional scholar such as the President knows, the second amendment wasn't written with hunting or recreational shooting in mind. I was written in order for the citizenry to be able to take up arms and revolt against a tyrannical government. A government that seeks to take away that right is exactly the one they had in mind. The Supreme Court concurs. End of story.
Query: Has the president ever gone skeet shooting any place OTHER than camp david?
Has he ever done any other kind of shooting?
Has he ever attended a fire arms safety class?
Does he have a permit to own a fire arm?
Does he own any fire arms/are any registered to him?
I don't believe I have EVER heard of him going to Camp David before this.
