Skeptical congresswoman challenges Obama to skeet shooting match
(CNN) – It's about time for some bipartisan...skeet shooting?
Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tennessee, joined a chorus of skeptics who questioned President Barack Obama's recent comments about his hobby of skeet shooting, a sport where participants fire shotguns to break airborne clay disks.

"If he is a skeet shooter, why have we not heard of this? Why have we not seen photos? Why hasn't he referenced this at any point in time?" Blackburn said Monday on CNN's "Erin Burnett OutFront."
"I tell you what I do think," she later added. "I think he should invite me to Camp David, and I'll go skeet shooting with him and I bet I'll beat him."
Obama said in an interview published Sunday by The New Republic that he won't ignore the concerns of hunters and sportsmen as his administration pushes for tighter gun laws. To illustrate his point, he added an anecdote about his previously unknown penchant for shooting.
"Up at Camp David, we do skeet shooting all the time," he said, responding to a question about whether he had ever fired a gun. He also added he has included guests on his skeet shooting outings.
Some found the comments puzzling and wondered why he hadn't mentioned his gun experience in the high-profile firearm debate over the past six weeks. The remarks especially fired up some conservative blogs and news outlets.
"We had this debate that is ongoing," Blackburn said. "You would have thought it would have been a point of reference."
When asked by Jessica Yellin, CNN's chief White House correspondent, how often the president goes skeet shooting, White House press secretary Jay Carney said earlier Monday that he doesn't know.
"He does go to Camp David with some regularity, but I'm not sure how often he's done that," Carney said during the daily press briefing.
Pressed further if there was a photograph of the president taking part in the sport, Carney said "There may be, but I haven't seen it."
"Why haven't we heard about it before?" Yellin continued.
"Because when he goes to Camp David, he goes to spend time with his family and friends and relax, not to produce photographs," Carney said.

It seems that many of the posters here don't care whether they are being lied to or not by the president. That is truly a sad state of affairs. If a man would lie over something trivial, what will he do with something critical?

Gosh. How does he do it? Golf, Skeet shooting, reading speeches, flying all over the country. Oh, yeah, and that other thing called governing. What a great leader. His motto, "my way or the highway".
Obama and Biden are pathological liars. It's absolutely astounding that the press is questioning him. Their job the last 4 years was NOT to question him.

It can't possibly be true that he shoots. During his first presidential campaign he admitted to having used pot and cocaine in college, and a history of drug use prohibits you from buying, possessing, or using a firearm.....is the president admitting to breaking the law?
The Obama supporters are right. What's one more lie on top of all the others he's told. Or as Hillary would say, "What difference does it make?"
Everyone knows Obama is lying. He already told a University of Chicago colleague many years ago when the cameras weren't rolling that he believes nobody should be owning firearms.
Get over it. He was re-elected and is either allowed to lie for next 4 years or, say whatever someone else puts on the teleprompter. So what if he does his skeet shooting with drones, he is the Prez.
Obama constantly has a camera around him. He is a narcissist and loves his picture taken. We have pictures of him doing everything else during his presidency. Why isn't there a picture of this? Obama has lied so many times he doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt.
The reason he said he goes skeet shooting all the time is because then he makes hunters and skeet shooters feel like he is one of them. Its just a way for him to relate to people so that he can pass whatever law he wants. He is obviously a liar but he is very good at manipulating people.
This discussion isn't about whether Obama shoots skeet or not. Nobody really cares about that. The discussion is about whether Obama tells the truth or not. Everyone ought to care about that.
Folks I think the point people are trying to make is that, they believe by the President's comment on skeet shooting being a lie is, if he is willing to lie like this what else has he lied to us about and about what has he lied. Personally I do not care if it is a GOP President or a Democrat President, I do not want to FEEL like I am being lied to expecially to the point of him (her some day) thinking I am stupid or a dumb idiot.

Another in a long list of his imagination... his girlfriends, his leadership skills, his choice in a VP with more than half a brain, his own self-importance, his understanding on Consitutional law and now his skeet shooting skills, all imaginary. Disney should sponsor this imagineering administration.
The President said "Up at Camp David, we do skeet shooting all the time." This is disingenuous. No real Skeet Skeet shooter would have said "...we do skeet shooting..." A real skeet shooter would have said "...we shoot skeet..." This is a subtle difference but it shows a huge gap in the Presidents credibility. Now to my post, if I may... I think that Obama has been around Joe Biden too much. He is starting to blurt out quickies that get him in trouble.
I can't wait until we bring back the equal time provision that was in force for so many years on TV and Radio. Bit of a bother, but at least every time that Obama goes on the air, someone from the other side gets to comment. Should not be hard to get passed. It was a liberal darling back in the 60's.
He lies constantly and the left respond with "who cares?" and then label the person who pointed out the lie a racist. I guess they hope to be right twice a day. Like a stopped clock. Pssst! Accusing us proud Americans (no hyphen) of being (secret coded dog whistle) racists every time we express a different opinion than yours, or disagree with your childish agenda or point out your lies isn't going to take you much further than where we are right now.
Has to be really hard for Obama to keep all his lies straight.

I would think the Secret Service agent-in -charge of Presidential security would have a voice in this. He/She remembers Cheney with a shot gun.

I am an experience shooter with pistol and rifle. When I was in the Marine Corps I qualified expert in both and was 3rd in my TBS class. The first time I tried skeet shooting I went through every station and only hit one clay pigeon. After about three lesson and some practice I was able to hit about 50%. Obama should invite the press with him on his next visit to Camp David. If he's shot skeet a number of times he should be able to hit at least 30%. If not he's a liar. This is very easy to prove.
