The government is cutting jobs at the cyclic rate, it's the biggest drag if you look at the numbers breakdown. I don't understand why the GOP isn't cheering in the aisles here? Isnt Shrinking the size of the fed what they want?

a little sad
November and December jobs figure revised upward, adding another 100K jobs in those two months. November alone added 240+ jobs.
I guess as soon as the country breathed a sigh of relief that Obama was re-elected and that we did not have to live through 4 years of Romney, the provate sector started a hiring push.
GoBama!

Good numbers! And, if we had some help from the Republicans, they could be better. Also, this cutting government mantra, look what it did to the GDP in December. Defense spending went down and the GDP went down. The economy needs more stimulus.. NOT less!!

Borderless
The thing to take away from this is that unemployment is increasing back to where it was in 2008. Since he was only just inaugurated this month, Obama is right to blame the previous president. Oh, wait. That was him.
So much for romney and ryans and the rest of the gop slobs lies during their failed goofball campaign in 2012 ,losers

Hey, Borderless!! Tell us what the Republicans have done to address unemployment?? This president has presided in how many straight months of adding jobs? I think it's over 3 years now... Not losing 750,000 per month...

if mitt had been president the republicans would have stressed that hiring is on the increase. Good to see steady increase. Obama saved us from a really bad recession . If the republicans would stop all the nonsense with the physical cliff and all their other nonsense the job rate would increase faster, Wall street and the business community don't know what to do when faced with the GOP nut jobs. All are trying to wait them out.

@Rick McDaniel,
You ever heard of "more people joining the work force"? Your vapid comments are astounding. You never cease to amaze

Yes, Rick McDaniel! The unemployment numbers went up because more people are encouraged and are trying to find jobs. If that's so bad, how come the DOW is about to cross 14,0000??? Care to explain??

Two percent growth is a windfall in the Obama economy. What a joke. More people left the workforce again last month so it does not even account for that misery. Unemployment for teenagers and minorities is at historically low levels. This the for worst recovery (loose term) in recorded history due to obscene spending, regulations and Obamacare. The only reason the stock market has done well is the easy money from the Fed. In my business, which of course liberals hate, we finance good deals and pay of the duds. Great for us but we sure don't need to hire anyone. Its become a contract society where everything is outsourced between businesses – accounting, IT, etc. Skirting Obamacare has become a game.
