(CNN) - While there's still no word on 2016, Vice President Joe Biden confirmed Monday he's not throwing his hat in the ring for at least one position–that of the pope.
Asked in Philadelphia about the decision by Pope Benedict XVI to resign later this month, the high profile Catholic said: "I am not running."

All kidding aside, Biden–who had just finished up giving remarks at an event on gun violence–praised the pope for his "integrity."
"The decision reinforces for me as a practicing Catholic that this is a man of great integrity and looking out for what he believes is in the best interest of our church," Biden said. "I admire him for it."
The pope's decision to step down "because of advanced age" came as a big surprise Monday, as it's the first time a pope has resigned in nearly 600 years.
Biden added he thinks the pope, 85, sets "an incredibly high standard."
He doesn't qualify. He is pro-abortion........something the Catholic Church apposes.
Typical looter.
This guy makes me cringe from the tip of my toes to the top of my head.
This man should be ashamed to call himself a Catholic.
"He is pro-abortion"
Nobody is "pro-abortion." Nice strawman...but it's not going to scare away the crow we're going to continue feeding the GOP/Teatrolls.
Give me a break people. You can be a Catholic and be Pro-CHOICE! Just like most Catholics support the Death Penalty. Joe is a good man! I am tired of these hypocritical followers of organized religion.
"The American people need to understand that it's not as if we've done nothing for the debt. $2.6 trillion - $2.6 trillion already we've made in cuts. And all those cuts have come from non-defense programs." –Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV)
Again, those "cuts" are merely reductions in the projected rate of growth over the next 10 years. Oh, and by the way, Reid's number includes the massive tax hikes Democrats forced through at the beginning of the year. Debt reduction? Hardly.
I know who, Rick Santorum. He'd make a good pope.
And you people have the audacity to ridicule Sarah Palin? Look in your own back yard.
How about working on the economy and debt problem???. Joe take a day off you dont have to be stupid every day of your life

Better yet, look in your own front yard at George W. Bush and his Bushisms. By 2004 the web site had collected more than 500 new words that he had invented. Refudiate that.
@Rudy NYC
We're talking about Biden right now – you can't deal with it. And Obama isn't far behind – every time he speaks without a teleprompter, he shows his lack of intelligence and also reveals his biases.
Now there is an incompetent, bumbling fool – he was too old for the position in the first place – libs made fun of McCain's age – such hypocrisy! And, of course, then there is Harry Reid! No wonder we are in trouble!
Sorry, Sniffit, but a lot of people are indeed pro-abortion. Just read any newspaper article about the number of abortions being down in a certain place or time period, and there will be remarks of outrage by abortion supporters who say that the only reason numbers are down is because there is insufficient access. They want to see the numbers rise, because to them, that means women have more access to abortion. And there are also abortion clinic personnel and abortion doctors who earn their livelihood by terminating unborn babies,. They are also pro-abortion. Many of those doctors have such poor records that abortion clinics are the only places that will hire them. Without abortions, they'd have no work; they are pro-abortion. Planned Parenthood typically advises young pregnant girls to have abortions, because they are so young. They are pro-abortion.
Obama was a genius to pick Biden as vice-president. The thought of that clown (Biden) becoming president is the best insurance policy Obama could ever have.
