Palin urges Obama to express condolences for slain ex-Navy SEAL

(CNN) - Sarah Palin said she hopes President Barack Obama "pays his respects" to the slain former Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, who was killed at a shooting range by a fellow veteran on February 2.

In Dallas for the funeral, the former Alaska governor said she and her husband "find it sad to see that flags aren't flying at half staff for this American hero."

"We're surrounded today by American patriots here in Texas – by Chris' fellow veterans and active duty warriors," she wrote on Facebook Monday morning. "In honor of them, I hope our commander in chief pays his respects in some gesture of condolence for their comrade in arms who sacrificed so much to keep him and all of us safe."

Kyle, who was 38, served four combat tours in Iraq and received two Silver Stars, among other commendations. He left the Navy in 2009. He was most known for declaring himself the "most lethal sniper in U.S. history" with more than 150 sniper killings in Iraq, which he described as a record for any American.

"We may never know to what extent Chris kept us free or how many lives he saved by his brave actions in the line of fire. But his fellow warriors know how important he was," Palin wrote.

Shortly after his death, Palin wrote on Facebook that she had lost a friend. She explained that she and her husband, Todd, first met Kyle in Pella, Iowa, when he helped out with security for the premiere of "The Undefeated," a documentary about Palin that debuted in June 2011.

"Later we became friends with Chris when he was on 'Stars Earn Stripes' with Todd," she said, referring to the NBC reality show in which competitors took on missions based on military exercises.

"Chris was a wonderful man, a good friend, and a true American hero who loved our country and served honorably," she continued. "He was loved and admired by so many, and he will never be forgotten."

As a retired Army MSG I can honestly tell you the last place on earth I would want to be with a person with PTSD is on a firing range. While I feel sorry for these dead soldiers and their families I have to ask what were they thinking? A firing range is the last place on earth you want to be at with a person with PTSD. Anyone could figure this one out.

As for Crazy Sarah, what can you expect out of her. Her and the tea party's fifteen minutes of fame went out a long time ago. Ask Joe Walsh of Illinois. Same type of human being. All mouth, no sacrifice for the common good. Glad to be rid of both of them.

Sarah, you're so hot. Please, do us all a favor and just do the Playboy spread. It will be historic, and perhaps everyone will forget that you cost the GOP the election in 2008 or that you quit your job as governor of Alaska after less than two years on the job.

By all accounts Obama was MIA during Benghazi. Why that isn't an impeachable offense and front page of every publication escapes me. It flies in the face of his oath of office – if I was serving as an ambassador or in the military the message I would take from this is "watch your own back because Obama won't". If Bush had done something similar he would have been excoriated by the media for months on end.

And to think these men withheld this information from the public during the election? The words "criminal" and "treasonous" comes to mind.

There is nothing to impeach the President for; wishful thinking on your part though. Speaking of criminal and treason, why aren't Bush, Cheyney and Rumsfeld in jail?

the soldier was a pawn in a war that was either a lie or blunder.only choices.even bush and his former vp said there were no wmds',no al aqaida and the hawks that pushed for it all wrote books and make millions in speaking fees and royalties.
no one was one went to jail for lies or incredible blunder.
the seal was doing his job.for these cowards in washington.he killed people in their own country that he never needed to be in.
palin..war mongering, fear peddling oaf that gets by on her television looks.
the soldier did not even respect obama.why would he care if the president spoke.the fear and contempt the seal had for obama's leadership and gun laws revealed him as a man that did not care for other idead other than only what he knew.
republicans thrive on the fear and ignorance they present the public that does not want the world they know from 1950's illusions.

Our federal and state flags should've been flying at half-staff continuously since the start of the Iraq War and then when we’re finally out of Afghanistan. Ten plus years of stupid wars is enough already. Palin, the self-absorbed and flaming ignoramus will do anything to get into the news. CNN should be embarrassed to have paid staffers read her Facebook rants and then write articles about them. Whatever happened to meaningful and thought-provoking journalism.

And Joe Biden (who talks about being Pope – and other nonsense), Obama, who can't speak coherently without a teleprompter, Pelosi (who just needs to go away), Clinton (both of them who lie incessantly at the expense of National Security), and all the puppets in this adminstration – are your beacons of intellect??

Sarah Palin is a true American with values. She sees the downward spiral that this country is heading in. And yes condolences should be offered to Mr. Kyle who put his life on the line for this country.
Our entertainers entertain – that's it. Why are they made out to be heroes ? Could it be that so many don't care to read the Bible – 2 Timothy Chapter 3 is a real eye opener. And nonbelievers might like to read it as well. Nobody will try to force their religious belief on you, but it is well worth reading.

Obviously, Caribou Barbie fails to understand that it is unnecessary to mourn deceased mercenary soldiers who were still playing with guns.

If flags flew at half staff every time a war hero died, this country would be in perpetual mourning. And guess which president you can thank for that. Hint: not Obama.

Poor Caribou Barbie will say just about anything to keep her name out there. And using the death of a veteran for her platform is sad and ludicrous.

One would think that Sara Palin would express some outrage about how that member of Seal Team Six is faring these days. One would hope that Ms. Palin would reach out to help this hurting hero without celebrating herself in the process.

Sarah Palin doesn't understand that her so called American hero was killed because he made a stupid mistake–he took another veteran who was suffering with PTSD to a firing range thinking that more gun fire would be good for him. It may be relaxing for those who aren't suffering with PTSD, but for those who are it isn't. Oh yes, one more thing, Sarah's hero was not killed in combat. Sarah should STFU!
