Rove and Trump 'all good Republicans,' says McDonnell

Washington (CNN) – Don’t look for Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell to choose between celebrity businessman Donald Trump and Karl Rove, the Bush adviser who’s been at the end of Trump’s ire on Twitter.

“I know both of them. They're all good Republicans. We have good disagreements, just like the other side. And when you lose after a presidential race, there's always this soul searching. I think it's healthy,” McDonnell said on Monday’s edition of CNN’s “Erin Burnett Outfront.”

His remarks came after a sustained lashing of Rove by Trump, who wrote various messages on Twitter criticizing the GOP operative for his new group designed to help electable Republicans win primaries.

Trump isn’t the only conservative angry at Rove, whose new group is affiliated with American Crossroads, the super PAC that Rove co-founded.

Brent Bozell, the conservative activist and author, issued scathing criticism of Rove's new group.

"The moderate GOP establishment record in Senate races last year was abysmal: every single one of their candidates lost," Bozell wrote. "We don't need a second Democrat Party in Washington."

All of the sniping is to be expected, McDonnell argued Monday.

“Look, this is just part of the process,” he said. “I'm not that worried about it. I don't call it a civil war. It's a disagreement in the family. And we'll be a stronger Republican Party going forward.

I love it. as long as people like Trump are major players in the republican party, they have no chance of winning and unleashing their incompetence on the country. Give 'em hell, Donald!!

Karl Rove is a "moderate" Republican? Just more proof that the GOP has moved so far to the right, it's gone off the rails.

Donald Trump and Brent Bozell (the modern day Joe McCarthy) are two of the looniest people on earth.
Trump wasted millions on his birther agenda and Bozell swindles his doners.....

As much as Rove is a joke, these two make him look like a genus.

Before Fox and talk radio, Rove was a maestro at playing the liberal press.

Now, he's a liability. Time to retire.

The GOP wont win anything. They have too many extreme views within their own party. The moderate conservates are fighting the right wingnuts. As long as they have BOTh groups in the same party nothing is going to happen. They need to move centre and the tea party need to set up their own group – who wont win anything. Thats the only way. People arent stupid, the majority know the earth is older than 6000 years !
