Washington (CNN) – Don’t look for Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell to choose between celebrity businessman Donald Trump and Karl Rove, the Bush adviser who’s been at the end of Trump’s ire on Twitter.
“I know both of them. They're all good Republicans. We have good disagreements, just like the other side. And when you lose after a presidential race, there's always this soul searching. I think it's healthy,” McDonnell said on Monday’s edition of CNN’s “Erin Burnett Outfront.”
His remarks came after a sustained lashing of Rove by Trump, who wrote various messages on Twitter criticizing the GOP operative for his new group designed to help electable Republicans win primaries.

Trump isn’t the only conservative angry at Rove, whose new group is affiliated with American Crossroads, the super PAC that Rove co-founded.
Brent Bozell, the conservative activist and author, issued scathing criticism of Rove's new group.
"The moderate GOP establishment record in Senate races last year was abysmal: every single one of their candidates lost," Bozell wrote. "We don't need a second Democrat Party in Washington."
All of the sniping is to be expected, McDonnell argued Monday.
“Look, this is just part of the process,” he said. “I'm not that worried about it. I don't call it a civil war. It's a disagreement in the family. And we'll be a stronger Republican Party going forward.
The GOP either breaks it's chokehold by the Religious right or it crashes and burns. If the RNC needs to send a memo to candidates saying "....And never EVER mention the word "rape" in the same sentence as the word "God," then it deserves to lose.
Hope all you right to lifers enjoy working half the year for Obama's United Welfare States of America, since you're the ones who cleared the way for him to finish creating it.
No honor amongst thieves and fools.
But Uncle Bob will make it good.
Bumpkin Boz will take Rove to the woodshed, no moderates, repeat no moderates, it is going to hurt me more than you Carl.
Donald Trump doesn't like bullies...that's hilarious, coming from one of the biggest bullies ever.
There is no such thing as a "good Republican"...
Yeah, forward... right off a cliff!
Like the way the republicans are "re-branding" themselves for the 2014 and 2016 elections. I just hope Trump gets plenty of print and TV media because I really enjoyed the republican’s 2011-2012 traveling circus and who’s the better choice other than Trump being the republican’s circus ringmaster. Let’s hope “The Donald” hangs around for the next four years.
anything that discredits karl rove AND angers the donald is good
Gov. McDonnell is walking a narrow path in the interests of personal ambition. Try to please everybody, you please no one.
Brent Bozell III is correct when he says we don't need a second Democratic Party, the one we have is perfectly adequate. We also don't need a Tea Party, which has become irrelevant in its extreme.
Rove didn't produce and winners because Republicans are power hungry nut jobs and the populace sees that.
I think there's one feasible way to settle this republican feud. Bushmaster.
If the Koch Brothers Party AKA The Tea Party believe that they represent the majority, then it is time that they start running their candidates as Tea Party candidates and stop trying to hijack the .GOP
As McDonnell says, "They're both good republicans". Rove. Trump. Good human beings is another case.
Trump and the rest of the republicans don't get it- the majority of people are not interested in only what is good for white males. Women's rights, minority rights, equal pay for equal work, education, healthcare, social security are all of interest to the great majority of voters but not to the republican party- that's why you lost. Get on the side of the people and you could make a comeback!
Why is Trump even involved? Who is he for the GOP? A loud-mouth, a nobody. He should be ignored. But, no, he wants attention, no matter what.
People, we have real problems in this country. Let's let this pack of ideological zombies and self-absorbed twits fade away, forget about trying to decide who's more ideologically correct or pure than another, forget about this insane idea of choosing between political parties, and concentrate on evidence-based ideas that might actually move this country in the right direction.
I dare to say these GOP idiots lack Brains. They are bunch of stupids.
Bob donald an karl well if these republicans why is they on news, the spot they taking up can be a space for more good news. They dont sound very well on the news.
He doesn't like bullies. That's what he is. Tired of hearing about trump.
Trump is a RINO. Bah, moderate republican indeed. There is good and there is evil. when you "compromise" with evil you just collaborate. like the Vichy government in france during WWII
Trump doesn't like bullies...............imagine!!!
Republicans are the biggest haters on the planet.
Trump: "I don't like bullies". Now THAT'S rich, coming from a "bully".
And how much did the "Donald" contribute? As usual, ten pounds of manure in a five pound bag. Oh no, I better be quiet..he might sue me.
....Trumpers is going ova the deep end.........
